Thank you Valpal. I was actually running back to the highway to get these. (we're the first house off the highway) Those clouds were cruising, and I didn't want to miss it.

"I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."

OR, photos are absolutely wonderful! I love seeing Nova Scotia and hope to get there one day myself. Looks like you have access to some wonderful views. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks guys. Ange and I are taking our late anniversary hiking/camping trip this weekend and I'll hopefully have some new images to share. We're doing a hiking tour through Cape Breton (NW) now that the Celtic Colours Festival is on the go. The colours should be perfect. There's still about a third of the leaves that are still green, but should be all turned by the weekend.
Here are some of the photos from the trip, unaltered. The haze was a little out of control about mid-day when we were on the skyline trail (looking over at the Cabot Trail).
I so agree with everyone. They are breathtaking. Heaven on earth. I would really love to see it someday. Do you offer a guide service? Thank you for sharing.

Yes, indeed. In fact it seems to me, looking at these, that if you couldn't get the Scottish highlands, Cape Breton would not be a poor substitute. . .
You've got a wonderful eye, oldraven, as I've said before, but you also have some stunning subject matter to work with.
Those rock-and-water shots remind me of a verse from Willam Cullen Bryant's poem "March" (timely, no?):
" . . . Then sing aloud the gushing rills and the wild brooks from frost set free, that lightly leaping down the hills renew their journey to the sea . . ."
(I had one of those sixth-grade teachers that made us memorize things )
Alexander Grahame Bell chose Cape Breton as his home because it was the closest to the Highlands that could be found outside of Scotland. Old Ravens' pics are gorgeous.
