Saw "Wallace and Gromit -- Attack of the Wererabbit" two nights ago. Now, I am besotted by claymation anyway, just the very idea of it. Sheer madness. But this was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Laughed so hard I almost had an asthma atack. The short with the penguins from Madagascar at the begining was also fabulously funny.

Picked up a dvd copy of "Benny and Joon" from the drugstore for 5 bucks. I never saw it, but I think I will watch it tonight.

"Kingdom of Heaven" was very interesting, and visually very rich. Has its bit of a political message: "What is Jerusalem worth?" "Nothing. Everything!" But then, that message has been around for an amazing length of time. I really loved that little part that David Thewlis played -- the old friend of the lad's father.

I just saw "Bewitched" and "the Translator" and you may all think this is stupid but I never really noticed Nicole Kidman (probably because she was married to that mediocre actor for a while wink.gif )

OMG the girl can act!

Both of these were very enjoyable flicks. I give them 3 thumbs up.

BTW - I saw the Kingdom of Heaven a few weeks ago and it was very good too.

Peace

Mikel

Okay, I know that's a guy movie with all the fast cars and chases and fighting and stuff, but I really liked it too!!! That Jason guy can kick as high as Jackie Chan and move just about as fast too - he's a hunk! And dang it but I wish I could drive like that...

I'll tell you a secret - for a long time I've had a crush on Tiff of the TV show Fifth Gear and my secret dream is to drift like he does... like Jason did in the movie...

Just yesterday my youngest told me she had watched Last of the Mohicans a few days ago. I luv that movie. I might just have to go find me a copy to buy. Another one I like is Geronimo, that is such a good movie!

Just saw CITY WITH NO LIMITS: a beautiful Spanish/French film shot in Paris. Very sad, but incredible film, with Geraldine Chaplin, Charile Chaplin's daughter.
I'm currently watching THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, an old Jimmy Stewart classic about a plane crash in the Saharan desert. Great ensemble cast and a terrific story.
Next up this week: GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT, a Gregory Peck film that won best picture way back.
My favorite Peck film is the classic western, THE BIG COUNTRY.

Recently saw the new adaptation of The War Of The Worlds with Tom Cruise. I was really impressed! Thought it was a really good flick. Almost made me like Tom again, after the poor idiot dumped Nicole Kidman! What WAS he thinking? (Wiz shakes his head in a disapproving manner)

Brrrrr! That War of the Worlds was one long beat-down for mounting anxiety. I thought it was tremendous, but I could never see it twice.

Did y'all see Chicken Little? I avoided it thinking "what can you get out of a story like that?", but it is really funny and cute. Bit of Monsters, Inc. and bit of Finding Nemo for theme, with the kid who is a little bit of a misfit and the single-parent dad who loves but won't believe in him. Totally wacked-out premise for why the sky really IS falling, or seems to be. Chicken Little's trio of misfit friends are also a real hoot. Well -- bring a kid if you have one or can dragoon one, but go anyway. biggrin.gif

I really did like the special effects, tho, they were top-notch...
