So what is everyone doing for the Memorial Day Holiday? If you are lucky enough to be working, do you plan to slip out early Friday? Is there Memorial Services in your area? How about the great picnic or barbecue?

"Nature always wears the colors of the spirit." -
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
K. Gibran
In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.
John Muir
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
We can't go anywhere, but we will be making the trip to the cemetary. Afterwards we will be getting together with friends to cook out and have a good time.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
I helped the American Legion put the flags out today,I do this ever year with them. As for what I will do on Monday if it doesn't rain,we will have a cook out, with family and friends.

The Boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best Shadowy and vague. Who shall say where one ends and the other begins
Sounds like the same as everyone else......trip to the cemetery....call/email some old army buddies (which I should do more often)... then off to a cookout with the family. On Saturday we usually go to Kentucky Lake and do some boating (drinking) and swimming (drinking).
To all my American Friends and Fellow Vets please have a safe and pleasant Memorial Day but forget not all those who paid, and those who are still paying the ultimate price for the freedom you enjoy. From the Revolution to Afghanistan your Sons and Daughters have stood in Harms Way so that those they Love can enjoy the Fruits of their Sacrifice. REMEMBER.
I sing the praise of honored wars of glory and of kings The bravery of soldiers, The joy that peace can bring The captains on their way home, The ribbons on their chests They've packed away the firearms the trumpets lay to rest... They've taken in the battlefields with one last weary breath And set their sights on something new while there's still something left The poets and the dreamers thank the stars above For leaving hatred in the dust and bringing back the love...
Over land and over sea March The Heroes Home For the faithful, for the free March The Heroes Home We'll be waiting when you March The Heroes Home All the night and day through March The Heroes Home...
The flowers laughing in the fields boast colors bright and new A hint of freedom in the air, the chimes are ringing true They're bringing in the New Year and ringing out the old Beckoning the springtime though winter winds blow cold...
Over land and over sea March The Heroes Home For the faithful, for the free March The Heroes Home We'll be waiting when you March The Heroes Home All the night and day through March The Heroes Home...
"[L]et us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us re-consecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain." --Dwight Eisenhower
"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." --Sir Winston Churchill
"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." --Calvin Coolidge
"Not only are they commemorated by columns and inscriptions, but there dwells also an unwritten memorial of them, graven not on stone but in the hearts of men." --Pericles
I did some work around my parents' house and grilled up a couple of hot dogs.
