I'm sitting here not really enjoying being at work (as evidenced by most of my posts being during business hours) and wondering what everyone else thought of their jobs.
What I love: I'm learning a lot. Also, I'm one the only person at DaimlerChrysler with a deep knowledge of the network backup product we use. Not tooting my horn, just at the right place at the right time.
What I hate: I am constantly verbally abused by the guy who is my client. He is constanly throwing f-bombs all over the place (fortunately not at me), which I think is extermely unprofessional. I hope he retires soon. I've almost told him to stuff it a few times and quit, but I have a family to feed.
So, let's hear it! There's bound to be lots of fodder for this topic!

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.
What I Love: I love helping people. I sell music stores great quality musical instruments that help them to make money and be successful.
I have learned a ton about the manufacture of musical instruments and sound re-inforcement gear.
I love being aroung musical instruments all day long.
What I hate: One of the negative Reps that works here who is constantly trying to shoot down inovative ideas in our marketing and talking down the quality of our product (he is relatively young and inexperienced in this business and life in general, but thinks he has all the answers- how much he knows is evidenced by the fact that he sells half what I do and has more customer service issues)
I like people to be behind the products that they sell (it's a good idea...ask zig ziglar)
I love my job but I would rather be playing guitar and writing songs

Sorry! I'm just looking at the old threads again for something to talk about!
What I hate: I am so tired of manual labor! What I wouldn't give for a desk job! I also hate the chemicals. And the heat in the summer time (I work around 7 ovens and in the summer it is UNBEARABLE!). For the past 3 weeks my boss has been on vacation and I've been having to fill in for her. I didn't get enough training and I feel completely lost! I've had to call her jsut about every day for some reason or another as well as bugging people at work for help! I hate my job!
What I love: Umm next question? The only thing I like is the pay and benefits. They are about the best to be had in this area. If it weren't for that, I'd be gone tomorrow!

Love: The People I work with! I'm on the bottom rung in the building, and out of 400+ people in that building I have found noone I can outright say I don't like. A few whom I have personality conflicts with and would be better not to work directly with, but even those people I wouldn't have be any other way.
When Neo and Trinity take over the facility, there's got to be something said there! (The head man in the center, and his wife, came in dressed those parts one Halloween. Totally cool!)
Hate: Uncertainty, lack of any control over how much recoup time you have between issues, and getting burnt out.
First, thanks for recalling the thread. I've had my current position for not quite 4 months. Love: WONDERFUL pay and benefits. I work around really nice people who treat me like a king (I am their biggest customer's rep. in the facility). I have met my boss ONCE for a couple of hours. I set my own hours and my own duties. When nothing is happining with the project I have nothing to do but read, listen to toons and bug the conservatives on CR. Hate: Nothing, really, but I get bored sometimes.

Yeah, but do you get to take home samples?
Yes, if I want. The soft chew vitamines and the "energy" gum (caffien) are quite good. The nicotine gum project that I am working on is interesting, but I don't want any of the product. Now if I were at the Tullamore Dew factory......
Hate: having to raise other people's kids; kids; standing on my feet most of the day; not getting to play on CR more; politics of the place; not getting to use a cattle prod on the kid who levels the "F word" on me; getting up early; staying up late correcting papers; the gray hair from the stress.
Love: summer vacation

Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter. Lullabies, dreams and love ever after. A thousand welcomes when anyone comes... That's the Irish for You!
In the office of my firm (which has a world-wide presence, including Iraq), I am the only person that does what I do. So I am essentially a one-man shop, although I have hundreds of folks to back me up, world-wide! The best part of my job is that I nearly have no one looking over my shoulder, asking if I need something (that I don't want) to do! I am essentially my own boss. I can split from the office and tell no one and no one asks where I have been!!!
The bad part is that it can get stressful with deadlines and such.
