Our apologies if you received more than one email from us today. We had a little leprechaun playing some games.

We use to have leprechaun's every St. Patrick's Day until we upgraded our line. Hopefully everything goes smooth tomorrow.

While your here, be sure to request your favorite songs on St. Patrick's Day. We are going to have requests open all day long.

Again, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
<hr>St. Patrick’s Day is many things to many people. For some it is a chance to celebrate their Irish heritage and remember their ancestors. For others it is a great day to plan a party and get together with both Irish and non-Irish friends. And of course many of us simply see St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse to eat, drink and listen to some great Irish music.

No matter how you choose to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the history of this holiday is certainly worth examining. The original St. Patrick accomplished much more than ridding Ireland of snakes, and he emerged from his pagan roots to become one of Christianity’s best known figures.

This St. Patrick's Day we would like to share with you our new tune-in widget over at CelticMusicRadio.com. Quickly change channels to find the best music for your St. Patrick's Day. It works on desktop, tablet or phone. If you want to hear some of the legacy tunes like the Clancy Brothers or Irish Rovers, then try our Celtic Dance Tavern channel.

With over 35 years in the music industry, Irish singer-songwriter Pierce Turner certainly has the talent and intellect to spin a tale through song. The accomplished artist's latest single, "Hail Glorious St. Patrick," is a delightful twist on a classic ballad and a must-have track for fans of Celtic rock who seek out authenticity and originality that defies mainstream music norms...

March 2024 Contest<hr>
Our March 2024 contest is featuring a brand new CD donated by The Bryne Brothers, which is their first release. The CD contains tracks like Raggle Taggle Gypsy, P Stands for Paddy and Red Haired Mary.

About The Bryne Brothers<hr>Family has always been a key element in the Celtic music genre, and The Byrne Brothers from Donegal, Ireland definitely bring new life to a timeless theme! While many youths their age concentrate on the latest technology, brothers Luca, 19; Finn, 18; and Dempsey; 14, are focused on their individual style of music and traditional Irish dancing. The accomplished Byrne Brothers have entertained crowds at Walt Disney World, toured across the United States, and amassed a huge following on social media to draw in new listeners to the historic genre.

Joined by their father Tommy on fiddle, bagpipe, and guitar, the brothers' latest album, The Boys of Doorin, is a true delight for fans searching for the next generation in Celtic classics. 18-year-old banjo and mandolin player Finn wrote, recorded, and produced multiple tracks on this enthusiastic record with all family members excelling in their variety of instruments. Eldest brother Luca on accordion leads the animated melodies while youngest brother Dempsey drives the rhythm with his traditional Irish bodhran drum and whistle.

We are a little late in this announcement (where did January go!) - Our Ultimate Castle contest goes to

ScottishLassLuv

A BIG CONGRATS to MacKenize from Texas for winning this wonderful package.

While we have not run a fund raising drive in quite awhile, thanks to our Celtic Radio Founding members, we still have several bins of donation gifts and plenty of these publications, so we will extend this contest for another round for those holding out hope to bring this one home.

It's time to celebrate! Critically acclaimed act Celtic Woman has just released their 20th anniversary compilation album to the delight of longtime listeners and new fans alike. This universally talented band has evolved in their sound over the years but remains popular and respected to this day. Celtic Woman 20 is a milestone album for the Irish quartet with brand new recordings and their first studio record since Postcards From Ireland, released in 2021. Bold and memorable, this special edition album encompasses Celtic Woman's true ethereal essence.

Welcome Hayden! Glad you found us and stopped by. Yes - this forum is an ancient relic of the early days of the internet. Just like Celtic music we figure it ages better with time.

Prior to facebook it would be common to have hundreds of posts a day.

Heck I am still using bulletin board systems (BBS) on 80s computers - although no more dialup we use the modern internet to connect.

Make yourself at home and if any questions let us know.

Highlander Radio has always been our flagship channel that plays some of the widest range of Celtic music along with an engaging <a href="https://www.celticradio.net/php/schedule.php">schedule</a> of music, news and specialty programming.

Through the years we have received an incredible amount of music directly from musicians. Everyone has their own interpretation of Celtic music - from traditional, to classics, to original compositions. You are going to hear not only time held classics, but perhaps some songs and sub-music genres you did not expect to hear - but that is what makes Highlander Radio unique and interesting.

To compliment our Highlander Radio broadcast, we stream several current episodes of some really great presenters. Their skills, music selections and stories really do add a lot to the broadcast and provide about 24 hours of programming on a weekly basis.

You can view our <a href="https://www.celticradio.net/php/schedule.php"><b>broadcast schedule</b></a> to tune in to these talented folks and see other programs we offer. Visit their sites below to download and listen to their shows if you can't wait. The content these hosts provide is incredible - we are fortunate to have such seasoned musicians and presenters supporting Celtic music.<hr><center><table><tr><td width="33%" align="center">

I agree they are more down to the Celtic Roots. Just a wonderful sound I would love to see them play live I bet they sound just as good live as they do in the studio.

We are fortunate that their U.S. manager keeps us stocked with their latest. I think we might do an official review next month.

Use to work with a woman whose son befriended one of them and was invited to their weddings. What a wedding that must have been!

It was an amazing funeral - a fitting tribute to a man that brought so much musical joy to us all. Thanks for posting this.

For those that did not see the full funeral there is an excellent recap along with a great rendition of Fairytale of New York.

I thought that Lisa O'Neill did probably as close to the original version that Kirsty MacColl performed with Shane. Tragically Kirsty passed away in 2000 saving her son from a motor boat that had entered the location where they were diving off Cuba.

As a holiday surprise, The Gothard Sisters have recently released their new album, A Celtic Christmas, right in time for the festive season. Beginning the record is many's favorite carol, "Angels We Have Heard On High," which demonstrates the sisters' ethereal harmonies that come together as one lovely sound. Midway through the record, the Gothard Sisters deliver a jaunty rendition of "I Saw Three Ships" to evoke Christmas joy as we near the holidays...

I love how they change system settings without letting you know.

The Christmas Grinch was cloudflare - although that might be too harsh as they do alot of good for us.

Had to update the OWASP ModSecurity Core Rule Set. I think we are all set now.

I thought they might have been blocking Christmas!

Thank you!

Hi Mike,

Are you still have the same issue? It's possible we may have been down at the time as we did upgrade our internet line again. Wish we had this sort of bandwidth in 2008!

I agree, Celtic Moon is one of our most popular stations and we use it to promote calm-ness. We also have a Scottish lass that does the promos for that station - she is great - lovely voice that just adds to serenity!

Again, write back here if still issues and we can give you a few more links to try. I'll try to get back here and response - sorry for the delay.

Great question - we plan on synchronizing the database membership base in the future. Right now, even though there is a membership sign up, you have full access to the site.

Once we start working on building out some features we will link the membership with your email address, so if you sign up with an email address on there in the future we will just backfill all of your account details.

Ideally you will be able to register or login on either website and there will be one common membership.

The Celtic Radio membership database remains intact! biggrin.gif

Our flashy new website is live and online. Although we still have much work to do, the site itself functions and we are experimenting with some new audio technologies.

Not meant to replace CelticRadio.net, but be more of our razzle dazzle easy to use site when you want to listen quickly and grab the latest news articles from us. It also works fantastically which ever device you bring - computer, phone or tablet.

No worries - we have two new CDs up for our November contest - check them out. One is a Christmas CD that quite frankly has the most amazing CD hardcover book with it - shrinked wrapped and brand new. The other is a Celtic Rock band from North Carolina called Syr - some really good stuff.

https://www.celticradio.net/php/contest/cel..._cd_contest.php

Also be sure to check out our Celtic Radio Founders only contest called the Ultimate Castle contest which has a collection of Castle and Middle ages books.

https://www.celticradio.net/php/contest/cel...ega_contest.php

We could do either a random draw or we could send out an email for first come on New Year's eve.

Contests are back on Celtic Radio after our site refresh was completed. Going to be a good 2024!

We are excited too! We are going to be working on King Arthur's auction house first. This will be a mini scaled down ebay type of system that ties into your Gold for when the season is over and you can cash out with prizes.

We will probably have another game reset once the auction house goes live. This might bring in some players. The game will always be available on Celtic Radio, but eventually we plan on having a stand alone version. Especially if we decide to turn the currency into a real life crypto currency we need to have a better server, database and security.

Funding for when the game is split out of Celtic Radio into a stand alone will be financed by an initial offering of MKC (Medieval Kingdom Coin) - which will be the native currency of the game. This will allow us to hire graphic designers and programmers.

This will be a few years off but it was always our intention once we were done with Celtic Radio development to develop this game.
