Live365 has informed us that they are having issues with their network and bandwidth. This has resulted in the terrible buffering and choppy sound of our broadcast these past 2 weeks.

They are working on resolving these issues and stated that by August 1st they should be resolved. Apparently they are working on the network and getting a new ISP.

We just want it to be known that Highlander Radio is broadcasting perrfectly from our Network and this is a Live365 issue only.

For your information we forked over close to $1000 to them for 1 years of streaming broadcast. This was money that was raised through donations, Tshirt Sales and Founder accounts. Alot of people contributed to make this happen. On top of that, I know alot of you have purchased a preferred Live365 account and are paying a subscription to them each month. On top of that they get revenue from all of the banner ads and audio ads.

It is unacceptable that we are having these issues and I would urge you to contact their technical support if it happens again.

We have about 6 months to go on our account over there and if these problems continue we will create our own subscription based service (for a whole lot less a month) because there are other options coming available to independent webcasters (like Highlander Radio) that would allow us to be licensed and pay the royalty payments too.

Hopefully we will not have to make such a drastic change and hopefully they will resolve all of these issues once and for all by August 1st.

Thanks for your patience during this time.

Thanks for the update, Macfive.
It appears that Highlander Radio is not the only station being impacted by Live365's "technical difficulties."
Here's a sample post from one of their forums.

I've just cancelled my VIP subscription, because I can't listen to Live365 in anything like acceptable quality via iTunes.

Before I go, however, I'd like to publicly thank a couple of your broadcasters for the many many hours of excellent programming I've listened to over the last year.

I suspect that the "technical difficulties" are actually difficulties in getting their spyware past the spyware filters so many people and isp's are using now.
Here's another sample from their forum.

Had a problem w/Radio365 totally locking up my machine several seconds after start. Found that it was due to the MSAntispy's "Real-Time Protection". Too busy right now to determine which "Agent" is responsible, but will post back if/when I figure it out. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm glad to hear that alternatives to Live365 may be coming on line, as they have made it all but impossible to listen to live streams, which according to their tech support, is what Highlander Radio is. It's a bit frustrating that to listen to Celtic internet streams now requires listening to one of the canned Celtic stations, which do not have the variety or features of Highlander Radio.

It appears that they may be giving different stories to broadcasters and listeners.
Here's their most recent announcement for listeners.

Just in case anyone hasn't heard by now, most listening droupouts are being cause by faulty routers directing listening/broadcasting traffic incorrectly.
While we do not have an ETA at this time, the network techs have made solving this their number one priority.
