I just wanted to share a festival with everyone that is probably one of the prettiest festivals I've ever seen and that is the Blue Ridge Celtic Festival in Blowing Rock North Carolina. It is a one day festival to be held this year on Sat May 20th from 10-6.

This festival is situated around a gorgeous lake area and last year the tree's had flower's on them which added brillant color.

"Enter the Haggis" was the headlining group last year and will be again this year. This talented group of your men began building this band in 1996 and I don't think there is an instrument that can't be played by one of them.... You will "GREATLY" enjoy the day you spend listening to them. Make sure you bring a blanket or chairs.

One of the neatest things about their festival that I enjoyed last year was the pagentry of Mary Queen of Scotland's court that this festival holds. It makes it different and special than anyone I've ever been at. I don't know how they decide who gets the honor of playing Mary Queen of the Scots but I''m voting for ME to be it next year! Hey I already have the Redhair! I'm also very talented at saying "off with their heads". See doesn't that just get ya in the mood for a good celtic get together?

I'll be there for the day so look for the "Redheaded Wench" in the Gordon Kilt. I know there are alot of folks who are in NC so come on out and bring friends with ya.

huh.gif I could have swore that I told you Friday night on the phone.

The wine was excellent, the beer was cold, the room was the best, the view was incredible, the hot tub was warm and bubbly.

OHHHHH!!! You mean the festival!! Well, I guess you'll just have to come to the PUB to see the pictures.

I will say, Peckery would have had a new fan club there. We met a bunch of very cool folks and ended up hanging with them for the duration.

WOW!!! That cherry moonshine was awesome.

I especially want everyone to know they are really missing a wonderful group of people from this area. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming! The entertainment was great by Enter The Haggis.

This is one of the prettiest locatioin for a celtic festival I have ever seen. The weather this year was a real negative first thing in the morning but the day ended up being nice til late in the afternoon close to 7:00 that night.

This festival surrounds the lake here and vendors line a walkway all the way around the lake. When you get to the other side of the lake is where the theatricial group who play Mary Queen of Scotland and her court have a tent on the other side.

There were some nice vendors there and this gentleman had antique items of celtic and scottish nature. Our own Mr. A Shrule Egan hides behind his foster grants over in the corner....nope you didn't break my camera but I took out additional insurance just in case. I bought an old silver bracelet from this vendor and his wife that was made around 1940-50. My bad! I'm a shopping fool!

I had to wear the sunglasses. It's part of my poker face and I wanted to play him down on the price of the watch that I was looking at.

There is a wonderful Resort called Chetola Resort that offers a celtic weekend package for around $300 for the whole weekend and it has a complete kitchen and beautiful surroundings. This is a wonderful facility for everyone next year but do make your reservations ahead of time as they were sold out very quickly. The pub there has great food.
