Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
RustyTX and AustinJim? Welcome to web-heaven. Have a few pints on Brettzky's tab!
We'll wait around for San Antonio Rose, Waco Wally, and Brownsville Bob! If they don't show-up... well... we'll jsut have to stay and drink on the tab!!!
Thanks for the welcome guys (and gals). Let me add a welcome to other new folks. As for BBQ and hot peppers on a Scottish forum, at my family reunion (where some of us wear kilts), we always have a hog killing and fresh pork. Guess that's what you get when you cross a Highlander with a hungry southern boy.
Do have a favor to ask. My youngest bairn is getting married this July to a lovely Irish lass. Does anyone know a good toast for the reception, in Gaelic? Also need help with pronounciation. (Told you, I'm just an ole country boy, and talk like it.)
I hope I didn't miss anybody! Wow what a week of fun we have had here! I think we are getting members who are as chatty as I am!
BTW, Gaelic Bread is the fellow we consider our "Toast" master!
He told us that was how he came by his online name - he was reading a book about "Gaelic Toasts" and one of his wee ones asked him if you make that from Gaelic Bread !?!
Reading through some of the posts just make it apparent how great this place is. We work until 1 pm today here, then gonna go down to the cantadera. I gotta be careful though cause it is way to easy to get in that happy state and loose track of time at those things.
Like I said before, big barbecue tomorrow, lots of food. I picked up 15 lbs of chicken last night for the arroz con pollo (chicken with rice), watch out though, we use olives with pits in them. Y'all are welcome to drop by. !60 miles west of Panama City, Pma. Down in the Azuero Peninsula.

My goodness, I can't believe all the new members on board. Hello and Welcome to you all. Sorry I'm so late with this, I have been so busy lately!
Carolina Scotsman, I'm looking for a good Irish toast also. My daughter is getting married next Saturday evening. If I should happen to find a good toast or two, I'll post them. I'm sure our friends here will help out!
BTW...if anyone is in my neck of the woods next Saturday the 21st of June at 7:00 pm stop by and join us for an evening of fun and celebration. Alot of good food, drinks and dancing! We'll show you some southern hospitality!
Yes, welcome to all you members who I missed. You know who you are. As to the toasts, my brother is getting married at the end of august and I need some material.

I am the new kid. A wee bit about myself, and why I am here: I was referred to this site by a friend who said..'go listen to Brobingnagian Bards' song, "The Dragon", also called "The Virgin" and tell me what you think of it' So.. in my search to hear that specific piece I stumbled across this wonderful treasure of people that listen to celtic sounds. You guys. I couldn't resist joining and posting how cool it is that a whole server is devoted to this. and for the record ..Caitlin is my real name! Though after scimming through the more colorful stories of how/why others chose their usernames I may have to edit mine.
