What deities are you drawn to?

Mine would have to be THOR. From my understanding he is the protector of the little people.

The Morrigan-hence the name 3Ravens. I had to do a great deal of soul searching to figure out why a Goddess of change, chaos, and war chose to be the patron of a healer. I finally decided it has to do with the fact that sometimes healing can't take place until after things have broken down and changed.

*Hu Gadarn/ Cernunnos- the Honored God.

* Brighid - goddess of agriculture, fire, healing, inspiration, music, learning divination, occult knowledge, poetry, prophecy, smithcraft. Her Gaelic name of Breo-saighead means "fiery arrow" or "fiery power". Celts often referred to her as being three in one - the Triple Brigits or the Three Mothers. An ever-burning fire was kept in her honor by her nineteen priestesses who lived in a sacred temple at Kildare. She was also a daughter of the Dagda. Brighid.

The great Creator , we are because of him!

Mother Earth, we sprang from her loins!

All others are lesser gods , not unimportant, but not formost.

If we thank and do justice by these two gods, we honor the remainder.

I believe, ultimately in one polynomial, multifaceted diety. Both God and Goddess, protector and destroier. Omnipotent, and maintaining a cosmic balance of perspective. All names by which a diety has been called, and every persona ever depicted, I see as another facet of the same spiritual entity. As for specific facets of the devine with which I can relate, I can list some:

Brighid, Rhiannon, The Christian Trinity (perticularly the teachings of Christ), The mother goddess

As my research expands, I feel sure there will be more personages to which I will be able to relate. As yet I have not studied very many religons, as facinated as I am with the subject.

I'll have to go with Ecletic Stag on this one.The UNIVERSE holds every thing, every thought ,and every power. I have found that whenever I need a special lesson or strengh the appropriet "TEACHER" will manifest. Such as if I find myself becoming a bit judgemental someone or something will remind me "judge not lest ye be judged by the same judgement".If I find that I am letting people run over me maybe a image of Dianna will find its way into my life.If I need a lesson on relaxing Pan or Bachas(sp) may make an appearence. It takes only a walk outside to make me feel the beat of Mother Earth. It has been important for me to constantly read and study as much as I can and to always keep an open mind.

The Goddess in me salutes the God/Goddess in you! angel_not.gif

What deities are you drawn to?

this is a great question. One that I have been asking myself for almost 2 yrs. I have yet to find any that I can relate to. then again I have yet to learn about all of them. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Study Study Study. Learn who they are, what (if anything in perticular) that they stand for. And follow Eclectic_Stag's advice. For me it has felt like finding a friend, versus just learning more about 'some historical figure' which is closer to the feeling I get when reading about other deities. My studies are far from complete, My search far from over. Yet this has been my experience so far.

I wish all those who read this the best of luck on your own journies. Learn the history, however hidden, then choose the route that you find suits you best.
