My wife and I decided to pick up and go to NZ. We are in the process of beginning the transition.
Investigating the immigration process
the housing market (for selling ours and renting one of theirs temporarily)
getting passports
implanting and vaccinating the cat and dogs
selling almost everything of ours (tonight I went through hundreds of books and cd's guitar, bass, clothes, etc...)
My wife went through all of her fabric bits and will go through her craft stuff tomorrow.
pushed up my schedule for next semester so I can get my degree in horticulture by May 15th I hope I can handle it.
This week-end I am painting my master bedroom and my brother will be up so I will have him help me put up the yard for the winter.

The NZ Labor Department has an employee that assists in perment residence paperwork and employment seemed very positive and friendly to our cause reassuring Shancy (my wife). So now we only have about 500,000 more things to do before July.

That is so cool! I've been wanting to do the same thing, but we've decided to wait until the kids are out of school. Of course, about a million other things will probably come up between now and then to prevent it.

Good luck with making the transition and keep us updated on how it goes. cool.gif

That is wonderful, birddog! While NC will be a bit duller for the loss, I know that you will love New Zealand.

Keep us updated on the transition! Your taking on a big endeavor and I'm sure you'll be a busy bee until you finally get settled in there. Post pictures when you get them!
