I have been a huge supporter since way back when.. How long have you been?

Posted by: Shadows 06-Jan-2015, 11:41 AM
I do not remember but it was back during the first 2 years of this site being born.

That's a great question. I know I have not been here as long as Shadows. It has been several years, though. It's been a great run!

Holy Mackerel Grog, you have been a member since 2003! That is an insane amount of time. As I had just posted in another thread, we owe everything to our founding members through the Celtic Radio Founder's club.

Never expected Celtic Radio to still be around and functioning here in 2015 but we are and thanks to our members.

In the early days we use to have a huge amount of posts everyday, but then facebook came around and drained alot of that traffic away. I think most people that posted back then were not as interested in the music as the conversation going on. We get those members strolling by every once in a while and it is good to see them. Sadly we here all too often of members passing away and a thanks for the music even while in hospice.

So glad you posted this thread!

Been a member of the forum since 04. I don't remember when I decided to become a Founding member, but I haven't looked back since.

I don't post as much as I would like but I do listen to the music almost daily.

Amazing the number of members that have been here for that long. It's no wonder everyone decided to stick around until we finally got the site running properly!

I too wish I had more time to post in the forum, just very busy, but I atleast try to get on and read the new posts and set aside some time to respond.

One thing is for sure, time goes by very fast!

Seamus, it is good to have you back! We are all getting older and slower to respond.

We can honestly say this has been the worst winter here in the Northeast this generation. February was just unbelievable.

Now it is April 8th and snowing again in Massachusetts. Not anything accumulating but still very annoying. Still some thick patches of snow that refuse to melt. I wonder if we are entering a new mini ice age!

Glad to have you back. A few changes on our end. The music is now completely free just click LISTEN NOW - it sounds better and it works good.

Sorry to hear about your health issue. Here is wishing you the best and glad you stopped by to say hi!

I joined 07-Jul-2004 and through many life changes (and thus changes in internet providers), I forgot I'd signed up to join this group. But all things happen for a reason and thankfully, some late night wanderings led me back here from the CR Facebook page! Glad to be back, now to spend some time reading on what I've missed out on!

Good to have you back, Kittye. Hope you enjoy the site as much as you used to or, perhaps, even more. See ya around...........

Really loving all of the members that have been here for so long. We have tried to keep the site using all of the same software - yes it is looking a bit dated but I think that just adds to the lore of Celtic Radio.

Definitely our music selections are ramping up. We now have a direct pipe line to a major Irish/Scottish/Celtic provider of music and we are making some great new music discoveries that just keeps making the music sound better.

When facebook came online we really lost a lot of the community forum traffic our numbers just plummeted until all you could hear was a pin drop and Shadows sipping on his coffee! wink.gif But we are still here and offering a nice alternative or supplement to facebook for those that want to connect with their roots or just enjoy the music.

Thanks again for the Celtic Radio Founders that support this site. It's not like you have to do it all the time, maybe once every few years. It really does help with everything we do.

Me and my coffee are still here watching the numbers grow and a migration back to the forums!
