I'm sure Paul will follow up on this. And bare in mind to I am not to familar with how the station works per say. But makes me wonder if the website hosting the station was down. I noted it gives an error message of ICY 401 service unavailible. Making me think it's the hosting site and not Paul's site directly. Though i am sure he'll follow up on this to clarify. ???

No Problem.

I know how busy you get with classes and all so wanted to make sure the poster knew someone was here and knew you would pop in as soon as your schedule allowed. ;)

And I take back my words on it being the host. Guess I was wrong on that assumption. ???

Ok well I take back my words again.

Shows how an assumption can be both right and wrong. :D

Hi

Well the ikon board allows a certain number of smilies to be present and is up to the owners choice of which smilies to use. I use this one on my own board along with a few other smilies check them out.

Here is a list of a few that I have. You might want to make note of the URL's for these images and if you want to use these additional images just hit the image button in the text formatting area of your post and then enter in the URL for the smilie you want. URL follows associated image.

Enjoy and drop a message if you have any problems with any of these.  :) Might be good to copy this whole message and mail it to yourself and save it in a safe spot so you can just copy the URL's for whenever needed.

It is morning here in Los Angeles, on Friday. It must be 8 or more hours later at the radio station. I can not get music, nor request, the station is down. Is there a place where such things as schedules are posted, and where scheduled downtime is announced?

Yes it is the true, the radio station was down for a short time this morning. Sorry for any inconvience this caused. The cause was related to a fatal exception error in our broadcast software. This is the first type error we have experienced in nearly 5 months of operation.

To resolve this problem required a reboot of the Highlander server and we also installed the latest updates to our microsoft web software.

We are not expecting this problem to reoccur. There is a slight chance this may have been caused by someone trying to access or break into our server. It is interesting that our firewall software prevented unauthorized entry around the time the station went down.

We will monitor our software and server closely over the next few days. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so quickly!

Special thanks to Scottish2 for getting ontop of this right away!

No, you were right on target about the hosting problem. Most of the time the problem will be with the host that provides us with the tremendous amount of bandwidth needed to support a web broadcast such as Highlander Radio.

Our server is extremely stable and if you took a look at our statistics over the past few months, we are up about 99.8% of the time, which is better than alot of other broadcasts on the net.

I hate to brag, but we are particularly proud of our up time here at Highlander Radio! :)

Thanks again Scottish2!
