Well do you punk? Simple Question! And if you believe, what do you think they look like?

Yes, I do. And this probably belongs in the Philosophy, Science and Religion forum.

I imagine they look like humans with or without wings, I don't know. Isn't there a mention in Revelations of an angel like creature with a hundred eyes and a hundred wings? I know it was something of the sort, I just can't remember the numbers.

Has anyone here seen anything about the new HBO movie 'Angels in America'? It's got Al Pachino, Emma Thompson, and Maryl Streep in it, and looks amazing.

Hebrews 13 "Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

I've met some angels in my time.....even have an aunt who keeps track of me.

The Anaheim Angels won the world series two years ago. Not only did they have great fans, they had rally MONKEYS. I saw the movie Gimme shelter where the Hell's Angels were the security for The Stones, Angel was James Rockford's side kick, Angel was the name of a very sweet dog, Angels Flight is a trolly car line in Los Angeles, I lived in the city of the angeles for 40 years soooooooooooooo I would have to say they exist....Peckery

I also do. If you really need them you'll meet them in your life.

I should have added to my post, my Aunt Weege died 40 years ago. She loved me in life and her death hasn't changed that.

Hey this thread probably does need to belong under the other forum but as long as no one get's "pissy" we are alright.
I just wondered who believes that's all.

Old Raven are you trying to start something with me?
I thought you and me were bud's! Come here so I can kick ya!

I believe there are angels among us, sent down to us from somewhere up above. They come to you and me in our darkest hours to show us how to live, to teach how to give, to guide us with the light of love.

Now that I'm done plagarizing one of the greatest country bands ever, I do believe in angels. I believe that they look like normal everday people.

Yes, I certainly believe in angels as spiritual beings for whom physical form is optional, yet who, when they assume a physical form, generally assume a human one. With or w/o the wings, and more often without.

Yes, I definitely believe in angels. Would like to think they are like they are in the Bible and I am sure I have had my guardian angel working overtime on me! angel_not.gif

I only seen one when I was a young boy about the age of 4.. I was very sick and almost died.. But I don?t know if it was a hallucination from Medicine or fever. Once my Great-grandfather as he was dying from natural causes told us about angels as if they were standing next to us in the room. I do hope there is Angels.

What a neat experience for you and your great-grandfather. I have heard of many such stories. smile.gif

I have done many stupid things in my life and I know there had to be someone watching over me! So I would hope it would be my guardian angel(s). I think I need more than one! angel_not.gif

Oh too embarrassed to tell everything! I would have to post them all in the "Dippy Club" thread. That was in my much younger days when I was so foolish!

I have escaped several situations of facing death. One of which is I was in a jeep and all of us were drunk driving around at night in the middle of the desert, off-roading. Well our jeep hit a rock and tipped us and I was at the side where all I could see was the end of a cliff and down! Miracously this jeep fell back upright or I would have been falling down that cliff and died otherwise.

One time I was in the ocean and got caught by an undercurrent and almost drowned! My mother noticed I was gone but could not find me. Miracuously I was washed up a shore! I thought then I was a gonner!

I have even been in a couple situations where I could have been attacked and raped, but someone just happened to appear and ran those people off.

I used to travel on the powwow circuit and a Native American Holy Man told me that "God had his hand on me, protecting me." I thought that was awesome! so I know I have guardian angels looking after me.

Now, aren't you sorry you asked? I have written a whole novel! laugh.gif

Oh My CelticRose, I once had an elderly black man to approach me, I was with my sister and my sis-in-law, we were visiting a woman that was in the hospital, who was at death's door, or so everyone thought, anyway he looked at me and said "young lady in the middle, God has wonderful plans ahead for you." Of course I was stunned. This was back in the 80's. I was relatively young then. biggrin.gif Of course, my sister and my sis-in-law told everyone and I was told the elderly man was probably an angel. The lady that we went to visit was younger than I and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Today she is married and has 3 sons. Just goes to show you, God does send angels and works miracles.

Have you ever looked at someone and thought you saw the face of God? That is an angel. So, yes I believe.

If you see the light of infinite love there, yes, it is!

You often do not recognise an angel before he did already pass by...

Posted by: Dreamer1 11-Jan-2004, 11:43 AM
Yes

I do believe in Angels. When I was a bit younger (*grin*), somewhere around second grade I think, I woke up in the middle of the night to see an angel sitting at the foot of my bed, smiling at me. He (yes, he) had short black hair, a wonderfully peaceful and affectionate smile, long white robe, and a white light that seemed to surround him. I hate to admit it, but I screamed when I saw him! I thought that he had come to take me to Heaven, and I didn't want to leave my family. I ducked under my covers, and when I got my nerve back enough to look, he was gone. The thing is- my scream didn't wake my sister who was in the bed right next to mine, or wake my Mom who is a very light sleeper and would always hear our nightmares.

When I was a bit older I'm sure my guardian angel helped an older friend of mine rescue me from drowning. I'd run out of air, and was falling asleep, unable to reach the surface again, when I felt myself being pulled upwards and told to "Just breathe". She'd been clear across the pool and had suddenly just known I needed help.

In a more practical note--have you ever noticed when you're at the shopping center driving around (and around, and around...) looking for a parking spot that one will suddenly appear in a great place if you've just asked for help from your Angel? Happens all the time, especially if my girls are with me! We all say an immediate "Thank You Angel!!" They really do watch over us, even in the little things. biggrin.gif

I know our eldest's Angel has been working triple-time keeping her safe! She once climbed down on the rocks at the ocean's edge when I was pushing our youngest up the hill in her stroller. I came over the top of the hill and couldn't see our eldest. As I was turning around and calling her name, a woman came up and asked if that was my daughter down there - sure enough, there she was as the water was crashing up around her, laughing! She was 3 years old! We managed to coax her back up to where I could grab her! She's never had any fear of things, and really kept us hopping (her angel most of all, I'm sure).

So Yes! I firmly, absolutely believe in Angels! You can call me crazy, but I do.

So there's a little bit of redneck in everyone.

You might be a redneck if every workday ends with the same argument about who gets to ride in the cab of the truck.

I don't believe in the Christian version of angels. I believe in spirits, and I think these spirits are what people are calling angels.

I will just tell a few of my expeiriences with angels. I am a climber, have been as long as I can remember. I have had three unroped falls (which is why I always climb with gear now). I was about 13 or 14 and I wanted to climb this tree to get to a tree-house. We were never allowed up there, it was above the two-story houses, and my Mom forbade it. Anyway, I get like 3/4 of the way up, and I just fell. Half a second later, I am still in the tree, shaking like he**, wondering what the heck happened. Two years later, I was traversing a stretch of rock on Blue mountain, and the same thing happened. I slipped, and somehow stayed on the rockface. After I could breath again, I downclimbed, and got off the mountain. A year after that, I was on Mt Tammany at the Deleware Water Gap, and the same thing happened. (I am trying to keep it short). Important thing is that 1. My reflexes are not that good 2. I am a lousy climber! 3. Angels exist, or I would have bounced 800 feet into the deleware river. 4. I never free climb anymore...I dodged the 3 strike rule!
