We seem to be experiencing a spamming type activity that I have received a few complaints about.
Basically, it seems that the request queue is being loaded up with all songs by 1 artist. Now, we don't have any restrictions on this type of activity, but it seems to be happening everyday.
I don't want to have to restrict requests, because I think it is a good thing if you want to request say 3 songs from an artist. But to use all 15 requests per day (every day) for the same artist and all at the same time is just not fair to the other listeners.
Can we please refrain from this activity? I don't mind this happening once in a while, but everyday?
Yes, the broadcast is very popular, but please do not "use" the broadcast as a means of promotion. Please think of the listeners.
Question? Is it still true that requesting more than one song by an artist, or requesting a song or artist that has been recently played will still result in either the request being rejected or the second or third requested song being suspended in the queue indefinitely?
So, assuming the answer to my question is yes, then not only are the actions mentioned in your post rude and inconsiderate, but it would also be safe to say they are a waste of time and effort.

I thought so, but for some reason it seems the requests are being put in the request queue and perhaps are being held until the rules say it is ok to play them.
I'll eventually revisit the request procedure and scripts. Again, it would be considerate to the rest of the listeners to only request maybe 3 songs from the same artist at any one time.
I see that some are still packing the queue. I have a feeling the individual(s) doing this don't read the fora often, if at all....
just my thought anyway....otherwise everything is sounding good here.
Keep up the good work!

Unless the way the queue works has also changed along with much of the site (it looks wonderful, by the way) since I've listened a few months ago, it does in fact cause subsequent requests for the same artist to be delayed until the rules allow them to be played. Requests for a given song do disappear when the song is played, however, or at least they did the few times I saw them.
The only exception there used to be to this was when an artist or song had recently played; the artist or song could not be requested for another 1 or 3 hours, respectively, meaning that minimum spacing for songs by the same artist was every 2 hours unless multiple were requested at the same time. It could get extremely frustrating, especially when there were limited amounts of time between scheduled programming.
