I'm sure everyone's seen the movie, "What women Really Want" but what do they want?
Annabelle

You're asking me? huh.gif

Why don't you answer the question, and I'll do my part in the other thread.

Hey Old Raven, you know what I want, A new Jeep. Since I did a gender test and came up a man, I really am not the usual woman to answer this question. I want Football games every weekend too. Is that too much to ask and the phone not to ring during the game.
Too much a tomboy...the long redhair gives me away that I'm a girl. Also when I'm fencing the guys are more aggressive when they see it's a girl.

Actually, they probably take it easy on you. Then they realise you're out to woop their arse, and have the conviction to pull it off. Then, through fear and stuborness try harder.

Yes, by the sounds of it you want what we all want. A new jeep. I could care less about Football though. World Rally Champ and Dakar? Now we're talking.

Ok. Where are the girlie-girls? tongue.gif

Annabelle, it looks like your answer should be in your other thread!

Posted by: RavenWing 13-Jan-2004, 10:47 AM
What do women want? hmmm....respect, nice clothes and make-up, to be taken seriously, a nice car, good home, stimulating conversation.

The sest of my answers I can't post here wink.gif naughty.gif

I want a new computer, more vacation days, increase to my salary, a nice "lunch date" with my boyfriend, and maybe some time this year a wonderful celtic engagement ring... but that's just me.

Oh, Annabelle... I love my jeep!

You'd better believe it.

I fenced epee and foil for four years in college, and the only times that I got hurt was when fencing women in local tournaments. Without fail, they would push fleche attacks on me, whose main intent never seemed to be scoring the touch, but in the "incidental" corps-a-corps. I never understood that.

Of course, as my wife just said after reading this post, they could have been hitting on me. But I prefer flirting that doesn't involve one meter long steel rods. biggrin.gif Touche!

Just my tuppence.

What do women really want? Would that be OLD women or YOUNG women?

When I was young I wanted different things than I want now. Let's see, money, a vacation, money, to be 40 pounds lighter, money, no gray hair, money, a Hummer, to retire (you thought I was going to say money), my grandkids to grow up healthy and happy with a good education, and.........world peace! biggrin.gif

Yeah. We all want that one. But for some reason it's usually only the women who have that one come true. tongue.gif

Sometimes I wish I didn't have to go to work but I'd get bored. Right now I'm thinking of starting another business venture in a new Shopping Center but I'm not sure of the rental expenses. I've got to do some prospecting to see if the venture would pay off.
I'm a workaholic!

I want lots and lots of Diet Coke and Makers Mark. I want Jeeps in every color they make. That way it could match my outfits. I could be color coded.
Monday - Blue, Tuesday- Red etc.

Hey we are using our imagination right? I have a good one.

and I forgot the most important thing!

MONEY! and More MONEY!

Then I could do anything and go anywhere and go see everyone and I could pay for a couple of rounds at the bar.

Well I'm coming back to earth now. Yuck!

Most importantly if I had all of that money I'd buy Wallace's sword.

That would be the ultimate thing to have.

A

Posted by: oldraven 14-Jan-2004, 08:49 AM
The actual sword, (assuming it exists), or a replica? Because the real one, (again, assuming), belongs in a museum in Scotland.

*pulls stick out of his arse*

There we go.

Deb, did you know that Mercedes Smart cars can be colour coded. They're black or silver with some panels coloured, and those panels can be removed and replaced within a few minutes. So, if you want a blue car today but a red one tomorrow, you just need to buy the spare panels. Crazy how well they know you ladies, eh? The only problem is the car is but ugly, only 3m long and 3m wide, and had a mini put-put engine. gimmee a second.

I second that and third it even thumbs_up.gif thumbs_up.gif thumbs_up.gif

With that most important detail -- MONEY -- I could retire from the combat zone, move to my beach somewhere warm and open my bar. Then I could say, "The drinks are on the house to Celtic Radio!!"

cheers.gif

Posted by: Annabelle 14-Jan-2004, 02:57 PM
OldRaven I didn't know they could do that with the panels in the Mercedez. Awesome. Now if I could afford the car, it would be sweet!

Also Wallace's sword is in the Museum in Sterling Castle. I have a wonderful low light picture I took of it. It's rather plain by today's standards. But look what it represents.

Old Raven that is one butt ugly car. ha ha biggrin.gif

Posted by: oldraven 14-Jan-2004, 03:27 PM
Well, they'll be hitting the US in '06, and aren't expensive at all. I mean, how much to you really think they can charge for a two seat sub-sub-compact with a 75hp turbo 3 cylinder.............. oops, wrong thread. tongue.gif

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 14-Jan-2004, 03:33 PM
Last time I've seen it, Annabelle, Wallaces sword was in the monument, not the castle.
The castle is empty and in the process of having the inside rebuilt. Last time I've been there they were working on a bedroom and a tapestry.

What I want might differ from what others want.. all I want is a hug from time to time and someone to sleep beside me. That makes me pretty happy.

The life I have now...............and a Chevy Tahao biggrin.gif

Posted by: Annabelle 14-Jan-2004, 09:58 PM
4 years ago while I was there they had a special exibit showing at the Castle and it had Wallace's Sword there. They told us that it is normally stored in the Wallace Monument and they have placques deplicting his life's story there, but when I saw it, there was a special showing being done at Sterling Castle. The program was for 3 months. I thought it must be showing as those done in Museum's. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey! I've seen those cars! They use them in Switzerland. They're rented out to drivers who've had their licenses taken away for driving drunk. I think the drivers have to go through a 3-month suspension for their first offense, then are made to drive those things around for all to see for several months. Talk about public exposure of a problem!! It's a pretty effective method of dealing with the problem, too.

And you're right -- those things are absolutely ridiculous looking.

Now---what do I want?? I think I'd like to take my family and re-visit Scotland, Switzerland, and Wales, visit Ireland for the first time, then (imagination running full-tilt here!) find Rivendell and live there. If we can't find Rivendell, then we should move up to the White Mountains and live there. (Okay, back to Reality now...) How 'bout some time in front of a roaring fire with a good book, a drink, and munchies being replenished as needed by adoring family? Someone else to clean the bathrooms! laugh.gif

well, I know it has been out on exhibitions.. I just thought I'd not let anybody mistake the monumen (victorian thing) for the castle (what a great thing!).. I absolutely love the castle, I'm not overly fussed about the monument though.

I think the monument's pretty naff as well! biggrin.gif

do you know that bookshop in the stirling arcade? *grins* stuffed with second hand and half prized books, a paradise for a poor student like me!

Posted by: Catriona 15-Jan-2004, 12:58 PM
Which bookshop? I'm not sure which one you mean. Mind you, it must be about 5 years since I wandered round Stirling. Stirling Uni is usually my destination when I have to go through there - and, as you know, it ain't central!

you should know where High Street is.. anyway, when you walk from the trainstation to the High Street you should see a sign "Arcade" directly in front of you (it's straight ahead, maybe 500 m from the trainstation). The shop is straight ahead in the arcade

Posted by: Catriona 15-Jan-2004, 04:41 PM
Right. NOW I know where you mean....!

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 15-Jan-2004, 04:44 PM
you don't sound convinced *grins*

Posted by: Catriona 15-Jan-2004, 05:22 PM
I am! I just haven't been in it....

I haven't wandered around the shops there for probably four or five years. Even when I went to Stirling late last year with my Aussie visitors, I sat in a cafe and had an espresso whilst they went shopping! Mind you, with that particular group of rellies I was entitled to feel retail therapy overload - I must have been in every shop in Edinburgh, Musselburgh, that big mall in Livingston - not counting trips to the Borders..... Yep, shopped till I dropped....!

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 15-Jan-2004, 05:26 PM
*lol*
poor you! mind you I would rather sit in a café as well, shopping is too much stress for me.

It's funny cause I've been asking my clients what they would really like?
The women that is. I can't ask the guys cause I always get the same 2 answers.
What most of my clients have asked for is for someone to help them. Help them do housework, do cleaning, do cars, just a helping hand.
Guys heads up and read. .. . . . do something nice for your mate without being asked. No special reason, a just because you care. Watch your mate's face when you help without being asked to do something specifically.
You'll be surprised. Interesting challenge.

I think what I really want is a room full of books... I'd never come out of there. That's why I love that bookshop soo much, full to the rim, you always have to watch where you walk...
