Thanks for the advice annabelle; I've never done blond before, but now I'm seriously considering it, despite the weird looks I might get biggrin.gif The craziet hairdo I have ever had though was for a midnight Halloween showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show (best way to spend Halloween ever!). I dressed up as Magenta and had hair teased straight out of my head from here to kingdom come. It was crazy fun!

I apologize in advance for the randomness, but I just remember thinking during the King Arthur movie about the monty python "it's" man (you know, the one who, looking all disheveled, would stagger towards the camera during the opening sequence and say in a hoarse voice "IT'S"). I think the train of thought was along the lines of other King Arthur movies<The Holy Grail<Monty Python, but when that one saxon staggered out of Hadriens wall I nearly broke out laughing. That and the fact that the guy who played Styles in the A&E Hornblower series was also in the film made it even more fun. Anyone else find any quirky details in the film?

QUOTE (Aragorn @ 20-Jul-2004, 08:25 AM)
I really think postingg 48 more times would be easier then painting the house. tongue.gif

You would think so, especially with this crazy Canadian weather going on, where every time I get all setup outside it decides to pour. Its happened 3 days in a row now!

Thanks for the support WofO, now I just have to write 48 more messages, pick a group and title, and finish painting my house. Which do you think is going to be easiest tongue.gif

I agree with Mingkee in so far as that this issue appears to be a last desperate attempt by Bush to distract the American people away from all their homeland trouble, especially now that the war is not going quite as he planned. That's not to say that same-sex marriage is not an important social issue, but rather that the American people's focus should be on other more critical issues like homelessness and education especially now at election time.

On a side not, I remember one of my law teachers telling me that the reason that the Constitution defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman is not a "nod" to the church but rather their attempt to prevent polygamy. I'm not sure how valid this point is, but I think the idea is interesting none the less

Poll Poll: Knighthood (Pages 1 2 3 )

I voted NO, but I feel that some substantial changes should occur in regards to how knighthoods are awarded ( or rather how the recipients are chosen). I feel that there should be more public involvement in the nomination process, and that more emphasis be placed on the need for the recipient to have made a great personal ( and not monetary) contribution to society. I mean, Conrad Black's knighthood was a bit of a joke, at least for most people here in Canada. I think that the whole honors system is integral to Britain, and that they should focus more attention on revitalizing it. Well, those are my two cents at least biggrin.gif

An interesting idea, but I would have to agree with dfilpus in so far as it smells rather self-satisfying. It sort of reminds me of how Chekhov in the original Star Trek used to claim that a Russian was always behind all the greatest discoveries and inventions. I might be more inclined to believe then if they had more substantial evidence to support their claims...

Seeing the posters for Alexander, its so weird to think of Colin Ferrell with blond hair. Of well, I guess I can always have them dark and handsome with a sexy accent biggrin.gif

The movie that I want to see is called ( I think) "National Treasure". It looks really silly but it has Sean Bean in it, so you know I'll have to go! My friend gave me the entire set of Sharpe series (all 14 movies), and I positively drool every time I watch them. Hands down he has the most gorgeous voice ever!

Oh drat, I was hoping that the grammar might be similar (especially when it took me this long just to figure out the whole french one tongue.gif ).

Sorry to disappoint you WofO, but I didn't translate my signature, but rather I happened to come across it one day when I was flipping through some old books. I like the way is sounded, and felt it was more about accepting your fate and dealing with it accordingly rather than struggling against it. So more like the Beatles then Picard, but I love them both biggrin.gif

Maybe in my time in New Brunswick I'll become more proficient at Gaelic...

Congrats Brandelynn, and good for you for deciding not to find out the babies sex. It just makes that day that much more special (plus you can always cut a deal with your husband that you get to name it if its a girl and he gets to name it if its a boy; that way you have a 50% chance of getting the name you want, and the "loser can always pick the babies middle name biggrin.gif )

Don't worry Annabelle, I'm thinking of dying my hair some outrageous colour for university - but how to decide goof.gif . I agree with you Kassia that some people get very weird about hair for no particular reason. Ah well, it just goes to show how superficial some people can be (tell your son I think his hair is great; just be thankful he's not getting anything pierced tongue.gif ).

I remember shaving this one guys hair when we were off on canoe trip. He wanted to impress all us girls so he told us to shave off just one half (so that one side was bald while the other had almost chin-length whitish/blond hair). That has to have been the worst haircut I have ever seen. Plus he got a burn on the side without any hair, so in the end he had us shave off the other side and he just wore a hat for the rest of the month. He was a nut case rolleyes.gif
