andrea101

according to my handy dandy irish gaelic dictionary that i found on line

faith = creideamh
faithful = dílis

i do not guarentee because i do not speak..... so have fun with it...

ahhh where ya planing on getting it......??

annabelle... not having a tattoo myself (my body is a temple) but having several shops around this area $65 sounds resonable...... i would say make sure you have seen their work.... BECAUSE you get what you pay for... find the BEST! in your area no matter what the cost because IT will be on you for a long long long long long ad infinitum time............ note.gif

Wow, Urian. That's wild, man. It starts to get fun when they get closer to the armpit, doesn't it? wink.gif What was that, 4-5 hours?

Annabelle, I'd say, at $65, you're getting yourself a pretty good deal. But I'd say look around to make sure you're not getting a cheaper tattoo. dundee pretty much said it.

I have a vine (vine is black) of 5 yellow Roses (Texan) around my right ankle, it's pretty, or so I think. I had it done in 1998.

I would put a pic. here, but I still haven't figured that out!

Annabelle - my smallest tattoo is a little over an inch on my wrist. The place I go to said that they always at least charge $20 (or was it $25?) as a starting price. That's how much my smallest one was, so I would say $65 dollars sounds about right... you might be able to find something cheaper but not by much.

Dundee and OldRaven thanks for the heads up on the tattoo thing. I am gonna go and watch them work on someone else before deciding on it but I'm pretty sure I'll be doing it this year. Going to put it on the back of my shoulder. I have a picture and I just want to see how they would duplicate this.

I'll let you know what I find out and when I do it.

Not to Lazarus this thread, but I ended up getting my first tattoo back on Good Friday. I went with a Nordic design from Courtney Davis. I need to get batteries in my camera and get some newer shots without razor burn but here's my tattoo. And I have to give full credit to Mark Long of Irezumi on 89th & Wornall here in Kansas City for doing such good work on it. Just a bit over 3.5 hours but it was all done in one session.

Awe...I can't say that I have a tat although one would be nice. But my boyfriend has a tattoe though that says "S. P. Q. R.". In Latin it reads "Senatus Populusque Romanus" which means Senate and People of Rome. So the boyfriend is into Rome like we here at CR are into Celts. The second reason is about Jesus. He died for our sins, the Roman soldiers who bore this emblem, and helped to crucifiy Jesus. So in a way he feels the guilt of the Roman soldiers. Try not to take the symbolism too literally. Oh and being that I am the cat lady if there ever was a tattoe mentioned it would have to be a tiger.

I have a tat on my lower back of a sun burst with a "E" in the middle. My nick name back home is Sunnie. Get it? Sun..."E". It's in B&W cause it hurt too bad to go back and get it colored in. Plus the tat cost me $130 buck and the color would have been another $130 and I was a broke chicka back then. Now I'm just a big baby and i'm too scared to go get it colored!

I have some pics, but I'm not going to post them. The bottom ray comes about 2 inches from my....well bottom!::posteropps I'll try to get some new ones that are a little more PG rated. biggrin.gif

Weird, they wanted to charge you more for color at the time? Granted, I know to go back and try and color it in would be like getting another tattoo and so it should cost but as my artist said, it's time you're paying for, not color. Oh well, different shops, different philosophies I guess.

Yeah either way I would have had to go back. I only had time for the outline. I had to go to work.
