You just gotta check this out. I was absolutely in hysterics over this.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859
Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge. ~Mark Twain
One of those my sister likes....scary... (course, she is too young to have child)

Whatever happened to names like Michael, James, Anne and Mary?

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
How about Gwyneth Paltrow's baby's name? Apple...I mean who does that to their children. I feel so bad for when those kids are going to be in school!
My first born's name (if it's a boy) is going to me Michael William. I haven't thought about the girl yet because I am really picky.

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
I wanted to name my youngest son Cullen. What a great Celtic name! My wife wouldn't have it. Ended up naming him Matthew. Still a good name. Eventually snuck a Celtic name with my daughter, Megan.

Cheers! Todd
Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.
I like the name Cullen, as well as Lennox, Benton, Seton, logan, and Sean. Some of the girls names that I like are Gwyn (and allo the other crazy spellings), Aislinn, Craig (I know its a boys name, but still), and Branwin. Okay, so maybe I'm abit like those crazy people on the website, but I do like more unusual names
I saw Egwene in there; isn't that from the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? At any rate, I've got four months to come up with some good names... maybe I'll read this for inspiration?

Three candles that illuminate every darkness: truth, drunkenness, and love.
When we were having the triplets many many moon's ago, we had to come up with 6 names 3 girls 3 boys
girls were : Jennifer Jean (JJ) Kathleen Ann Cassandra Marie
boys: Gordon Elgin Gavin Gordon Matthew Trevor
we had a joke at the last minute that if there was a boy in there we were going to call him "Evan Zeus" and we would call him "EZ". Since my husband's last name is Rood so that when they call him in class EvanRood like the motors on boats. We thought it would be histerical so we told everyone with a serious face. One day after telling my mom, she said she was going to leave $90 it takes to legally change your name in the state of Fla cause she thought that was terrible.
My last name is McGrady. My wife let me name my son. He is Aaron Tyler. I always tell him that when he goes to college to pick a career that will be financially lucrative because when I get old and need money, I'll naturally go to the ATM.
Thanks, greenldydragon. I haven't found out whether its a boy or a girl, and I'm going to do my best not to find out. I like surprises. The problem is the hubby and I *cannot* get anywhere close to the same page on names. I guess its a good thing we've got four more months! I read him some of the bad baby names to give him inspiration (as in, "don't make me use this!").
