I also don't like rice cakes. I try them about once a month and they taste like Styrofoam

Ok I will agree with you there.

Asparagus. I loathe asparagus. And sashimi (raw fish w/o the benefit of being wrapped with rice and seaweed). Oh yeah, raw octopus is disgusting no matter what you wrap around it.

OTOH, I'm quite fond of liver, broccoli, brussels sprouts, Parmesan, and musrhooms. And many forms of sushi (raw fish w/rice & seaweed wrapping) are yummy. I like my oysters fried.

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

I don't like any seafood other than shrimp. I can tolerate tuna in tuna salad, and can eat SOME fish (like Long John Silver's) IF its heavily breaded and SMOOTHERED in ketchup. Fish just tastes too ... well... fishy!

I also don't like raw onions, sweet potatoes, hominy, canteloupe, honeydew melon, Ranch dressing, buttermilk, grits, and oatmeal. there is probably more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Hmm..growing up in an environment where you ate ti before it ate you I'd have to say that there is not much I won't eat.
I refuse to eat Hog Head Cheese, though. Oy. We would slaughter a pig once or twice a year. No biggy. But I watched them prepare head cheese one time...nope..will not eat it.
That and chitterlings...eww

I agree with the bleu cheese and the chitterlings! And add to my list anchovies, pig's feet, tongues, livers, gizzards, oysters, caviar, "mountain oysters," sushi or any other raw meat, or hog brains (sometimes eaten in the south with scrambled eggs! BLECH!) Also don't care at all for wild game (deer, squirrel, rabbit, etc.)

About a year and a half ago, a specialty butcher shop here in the Chicago area got shut down. The reason why: the specialty was lions, tigers and bears (oh my!). I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to eat the meat of a fellow meat eater. That is too close to cannibalism for me eek.gif .

I have eaten Wild Rice from Minnesota/Wisconsin. It does have a flavor to it but the way it was prepared did not appeal to me.

I have eaten wild game, of North America, of just about anything you can think of with the exception of one and that is Opossum. I would try it once as long as I didn't have to clean it.

I like Vegemite, I 'make do' with that when I visit Australia - in the absence of Marmite. cool.gif I grant you it is a love it or hate it thing, though biggrin.gif

I don't like spinach or black pudding, or uncooked fish as in sushi or smoked salmon. Which is odd considering how much salmon there is available in Scotland!

I do like wild game, depending on preparation. My brother bagged an elk in Wyoming many years ago and it was the best meat I've ever had.

michaelcov, I agree, yuck to ocra and lima beans! I like rubarb, though. Especially strawberry rubarb pie or jam.
