Slowly my eyes open. As they try to focus I sit up.

"Where am I ?" I say out loud, my voice echoing off my surroundings

As my eyes finally focus in the dim light I see bars all around me.

"What the?! Master? Master can you hear me? I call out into the darkness.

Grabbing ahold of the bars I pull myself to my knees

"Hello? Master, anyone? Can anyone hear me?"

"Oh bloody hell!"

The Highlander has finished looking around in the forest and returns to MacErca and the others around the fire, he tells them "no luck on finding anyone else" now where are we with the drink?

Then Mac hands the flask to Highlander, the one that he has been trying to find the bottom of , for what seemed like ages, and thinks to himself "drat these never ending flasks" then he suddenly gets very melancholy when he thinks of how things started and where they are now and of all the good friends that have gone under.

I am Wolf.
It is my cry you hear in the night,
My eyes that gaze at you from the shadows.
It is my heart that beats in your Soul,
My strength that makes you whole.
I am Wolf. I am in you.
You are in Me. We Are Wolf.

Labban had no idea where he was. Actually, he hardly knew anything at all. Names, details, even purposes were all a fog. He could hear something faint not far away, but just far enough to keep his ringing ears from making it out. He focused, and realised the sound was voices. They were familiar voices that echoed in laughter, cries, and whispers in his head. As he listened, faces flashed in his head and like a rushing wave all was revealed.

He sat up with a start, but upon opening his eyes, Labban fell back to the ground with a thud. He was incredibly dissoriented, weak and........... ill! Labban's body wretched, and he rolled over to empty his stomach on the mossy earth he had been resting on.

His nose was dripping blood, and he felt a tender wet spot on the back of his head. Labban forced himself to his knees and began to drag himself toward the voices.

I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."

The cold world grew warmer. Eventually a fire from nowhere enveloped everything around me, until all I saw was flame. The flame grew pale, to white. My head ached from the heat and the noise. Then the noise faded. All was pure white, and the heat was still intense. A crack sounded, as if a twig snapped. Then. . . voices? Was someone speaking? It seamed distant. Slowly it grew clear enough to tell that who or whatever it was was unaware of me. "Hello??", I cried through the blinding curtain, "Who's there? Where am I?". Slowly, faint shapes began to form. A tree, then another.. Grass...

"What is real? Was I dreaming of the fire? or am I dreaming now", I thought to myself. The voices continued to grow clearer, as did the images, as the blinding light faded to reveal the woods. These woods, I know these woods. I must have been sleeping. . . Is that?, "Highlander?. Labban!?, Rider!? Is anyone there?. . ."

Liriel slowly focused on her master. Everything was blurry and the noise was unbearable. What had happened, she fingered her spider like medallion around her neck. She prayed that it wasn't to late to save his soul.

The Highlander as if reading Mac's thoughts says, "aye laddie but we'll see them again" then the Highlander takes a huge drink and settles down in his own thoughts of a time long passed.

Highlander, having had time to review the past, concentrated on thinking of his future and those around him, and the way things are going he can think for quite awhile.. cheers.gif
