Mine would have to be my George Foreman grill. I like grilled food, but I live in an apartment and I don't have a patio or balcony on which to put a real grill. I got a George Foreman grill for Christmas and I absolutely love it. You can grill just about anything on it and it tastes great.

I like to cook with fire. Or anything that was heated by fire. A gas stove with visible blue flames -- a firepit with a spit -- even hot rocks in a hole in the ground. Just don't give me electrically induced heat. Forget microwave, too.
okay I picked Other. For me it depends on the time of the year. Spring/Summer I love grilling outdoors even if I only have a mini-weber. Fish, brats, steaks, pork roasts....YUM! Autumn/Winter I love my oven. Baking fresh breads, holiday cookies, roasting pumpkin seeds....
of course now if we're talking favorite gadgets of all time....that would be a tough one....it would probably be my garlic press though.

I take it that if you were a cartoon character, you'd be Hank Hill's best customer, right ? (Hank Hill is the lead character on the Fox show "King of the Hill". He's a propane salesman.)
I have a gas stove and oven in my apartment. It took me awhile, but I'm getting used to it.

I choose other... open fire either wood or "real" charcoal not briquttes! No propane or gas either , they leave toxins on your food and a bad flavor.
My favorite cooking utinsel is anything cast iron....

i will grill all year long... gets a bit chilly in wisconsin winters, but in january i will be out there grilling a chicken or steaks at least once a week..... the weber genisis sits right by the patio doors and a snifter of warm brandy helps drive the chill out... only problem is your heat varies so much depending on the how cold it is.. grilling times change, so you gotta grill by the seat of your pants......
ps... shadows wood will leave toxins also along with charcoal...*s* but i agree with ya about cooking on an open fire just tastes soooo much better.

I grill all year long too.
The toxins are reduced in wood or natural charcoal if the coals are just that, glowing red embers and no unburnt pieces are still present...on the other hand propane is the biproduct of dead animals and plants and in my opinion leaves a very bad taste on foods.

just so we understand each other, no argument, no flames.. oh my and no puns...*L*
propane and natural gas are one of the cleanest burning environmentally friendly fuels there are... . see this site http://www.burningissues.org/ i totally agree with you about wood being good... spent many an evening sitting around the campfire at a skinning camp and how good the meat tasted... but i think that is one of the reasons i developed asthma and emphisema (sp?) ...
but i bet ya the way i cook on gas... you would never know the difference especially if i used wood chips to smoke it abit...
ps... and i am sure if we took the circle of life into account... wood is also a byproduct of dead animals and plants....
