We have been working on a new streaming configuration that should result in improved performance (we hope). The problem with our old configuration, while cost effective, was putting a big drain on network traffic and may have been causing our stream to drop. Today we needed to do a number of tasks to the servers which resulted in some down time. We now have the new configuration which uses 2 remote servers to relay our stream to Live365. I will not get into all of the technical details, but this will lesson the load on our internal network and prevent local traffic and web traffic from effecting the stream. It does result in some addition costs per month, but this seems unavoidable in order to avoid these drops which seem to occur at peak listening times during the day! Let us know if you find any problems with our stream over the next few days. Thanks! |
