Waynesville is where everyone tells me I'll have to go to do big shopping. I'm hopeing I can get people together up there. It's got the most awesome land. My property is at the top of Buck Mt and it's flat up there and then drops off on one side. It has a elevation of 4,000 feet that I absolutely love up there. And what a view. You'll have to come over there and visit....

Because people are trying to get some where else??? tongue.gif

Waynseville is a cute town not much for mall type shopping but there are some very nice shopps here, Asheville has a more eclectic collection of stores though.

That would be Wisconsin tongue.gif biggrin.gif . The only reason people from Illinois go there are for the outlet malls in Kenosha.

Where's home that it would be such a huge trip? Ottawa maybe?

I'm the one in Ottawa!! Nowhere in North America is too far to drive. I once drove from Ottawa to Oklahoma for a weekend barbecue. Left Thursday night and arrived about 1 or 2 in the morning on Saturday. Left for home on Sunday.

Another suggestion would be to aim for the weekend of a Celtic festival, Irish Festival or Highland games.

A couple of suggestions:

The Fergus Scottish Festival - Fantastic festival located about 45 minutes from Toronto in a beautiful area of Ontario.

Celtic Colours International Festival Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Oldraven isn't exaggerating when he talks of the beauty of Nova Scotia.

Hey I'm for going over there but It would be harder to get the most of us together due to expense. We have to make this as possible as we can for the most we can get together...If we were having a get together in Scotland I'd go but I'd need time to save my money. But then again I'm crazy!

I love the idea of Scotland, but not sure it would be financially feasible for me. I love the idea of Nova Scotia, though. I was there last summer and loved it. It was a port for a cruise so we only got to spend 1 day there. It would be great to spend more time there. I know of one place that oldraven would agree we'd have to go: the Alexaner Keith's Brewery. Didn't get to go while I was there, but have been told I have to if I ever get there again.

Cheers!
