I have no problems with AOL. I even tried the "real" internet and hated it. AOL is like an inner circle...when your in it you can still reach the outside, but if your not in it the outside is all you have. I have AOL powered by Verizon DSL. I LOVE it! I do way more stuff on the net now than I EVER did with dial up. Dial up just plain ol sucks reguardless what ISP your using. I have noticed that many programs place things all over the friggin place on computers. I downloaded this cute cursor program and it placed a whole extra bar on my IE. I figured out how to get rid of that. One thing that it did add that I like is a pop up killer. But AOL already had that anyway. I hear lots of people complain about AOL and it's weird cause sooooo many people are still using it. I guess everyone has their preferences :;):

Yes there was looting going on during the LA riots but the LA riots were started over the Rodney King situation not the same thing as what's happening in Iraq

The riots in Baghdad remind me of the LA Riots not so long ago....

My husband worked in LA during that time.....crazy time indeed. I think the people of Iraq have been deprived for so long that they are a bit overwhelmed by this newfound freedom. Hopefully they will come to their senses soon and realize they are only hurting themselves by tearing up and looting their cities.

*My favorite Saddam statue bashing moment was when they ripped his head off and sat on it while dragging in down the street.

MDF I too wonder about that.....I don't think it's entirely over yet. Where have Saddam and his cronies gone? Could they still be lurking...waiting?

I support peace and always will. Personally I can't stand folks that say oh lets boycott the Dixie Chicks because the DC's disagree with their stance. Like Sean Hannity is a stanch opposer of the DC's. And to me to say lets boycott someone in this sense because of something they said is no better then saying shut up or we'll hurt you financially. This to me is no better then taking away the DC's right to freespeech and the right to voice tgheir opinions!

this guy says it all......

Letter from radio station website in Lubbock, home of the Dixie Chick that spewed forth about our president:

Name: LT Layne McDowell
Date: 03/15/03
Time: 01:54:49 PM

An open letter to the Dixie Chicks:

Earlier this week, while performing in London, you stated that you were ashamed that our President is from your home state. I wonder if you realized how many Americans would be listening. This American was listening. This Texan is ashamed that you come from my state.

I serve my country as an officer in the United States Navy. Specifically, I fly F-14 Tomcats off carriers around the world, executing the missions that preserve the very freedom you claim to exercise. I have proudly fought for my country in the skies over Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan without regret. Though I may disagree wholeheartedly with your comments, I will defend to the death your right to say them.....in America. But for you to travel to a foreign land and publicly criticize our Commander in Chief, is cowardice behavior. Would you have so willingly made those comments while performing for a patriotic, flag-waving crowd of Texans in Lubbock? I would imagine not.

How dare you pocket profits off songs about soldiers, their deaths and patriotism while criticizing their Commander in Chief abroad, even while they prepare to give their lives to ensure your own freedom of speech. Please ask yourself, what have you done to deserve that sacrifice? Do not try to justify your comments by claiming that you made them only because you care about innocent lives. Never once in our history have we committed troops to war for the purpose of taking innocent lives. We do it to protect innocent lives, even yours.

If the world leaders of the late 1930's had the vision and courage of our present Commander in Chief, perhaps the evil men who caused the death of millions in WWII would have never had the opportunity to harm a soul. The
potential loss of millions of lives in the future at the hands of today's evil men necessitate action.

In a separate correspondence, I am returning to you each and every Dixie Chicks CD and cassette that I have ever purchased. Never again will I allow my funds to support your behavior. All you have done is to add your name to a growing list of American "Celebrities" who have failed to
realize that they have obtained their successes on the backs of the American blue-collar workers such as our servicemen and women.

To Natalie Maines: This Texan, this American, will continue to risk his life to guarantee your freedoms.

What will you do to deserve it?

in private he has expressed annoyance with the way the invasion is "dragging on."

"I know George thinks it should be over, but he's got to realize that this is a complicated thing," National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice said. "He doesn't have to keep snapping at us."

According to Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Bush continually finds excuses to slip away from briefings, even resorting to ringing his own secure phone for a fake "emergency.""We've been going easier on him the last few days," Wolfowitz said. "At first, we informed him of every new development, because that's what he wanted. Now, we pretty much limit it to the essentials."

hmmmmm does the name Judas sound familiar to anyone....if any of it is even true, just my opinion. I guess if it is it just goes to show that every camp will have a few who choose to take your vunerability and use it against you at some point....very sad indeed to stoop to that level.

It wasn't until this thread started that I have seen more hatred for America and the people who defend her thrown around. I guess when this war started peoples TRUE colors came out. I may not have all the answers as some of you or speak as intelligently but I have seen the disrespect from BOTH sides here so get off your high horses and take a long look at yourselves. I was scolded publicly for having a Braveheart sig....funny how this board is FULL of Braveheart avatars as well...maybe the webmaster should be scolded as well! Get real!
I love my country and support my government...they go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned. The last time I took a look at the world NO ONE COUNTRY was lily white in all their dealings..past or present.
Go ahead and point your fingers, it's a whole #### of a lot easier to criticize when you think you have all the answers.

I'm not so sure I ant to be a part of a board where so many so called peace activist can't wait to tear in to me and my country. I suppose now I'm a racist too

TracyLynn - I hope that you realise that my views are my own - just like yours belong to you....  I mean no personal disrespect to you when I state mine.  That is my right as a UK citizen   I am also curious.... I wonder, is your signature a quote from the Braveheart movie?  Cos that is a  film that upset a lot of Scots who love our history...  - it was totally historically inaccurate.....  It does my country no service.

oooops sorry not trying to offend anyone on purpose :(
