I was on you tube seeing the goals from the Rangers-Celtic game and saw this psa. I thought it might be interesting for the Scottish amongst us. But can anyone tell me what 'A load of Barry' means?

I believe that in Scottish slang "Barry" means good or wonderderful

No I think its pretty much the opposite, but why Barry??? I thought it might be to do with Barry Ferguson, the captain of Rangers but it it just does not seem right.

At last I have an answer thanks to a comment on the Youtube page.

Barryis short for Barry White which is 'Glasgow rhyming slang' for ... sh_t_ blink.gif

Hopefully you get it from that.

I don't want to go offending anyone on here so if you need to have it spelt out for you use the youtube link on my first post.

Oh and having followed the video's links, I found the originator's site and there's a good bit more Glasgow slang on a piece on their blog.
