I know I should have been doing this a whole lot sooner but the beginning of this year whenever I see someone wearing a Veteran cap I make a point to go over to that person and thank them for their service. Just to see the light of surprise in their eyes that someone actually cares enough to say thank you means a lot to our veterans. I am not patting my back by any means but I think our veterans and active military are unappreciated and not thanked enough for the sacrifices they make. |

Been thinking about going the route of internet streaming as there are so many shows on cable I am not interested in. Wondering if streaming is cheaper but then we keep having internet issues that no one can seem to fix so I guess we hang onto Starz to watch Outlander for now.
I was behind in watching all of Season 2 of Outlander this year but I believe the season finale was the latter part of May. Now they are already filming Season 2 which is scheduled for release in 2016. Here is a link that I hope is ok to share. Gives a wee bit of what's to come. Can't wait!!

I finally finished watching all episodes of the first season. Boy! Went out with a bang and pretty intense.
Not sure when Season 2 begins. I am assuming next spring sometime.
In the meantime, I have since learned that Diana is working on book #9 and there will be 10 books altogether in the series.
So what did you all think about Season 1? |

Thought I would stop in here and say hello. Been an awful long time since I have done so. Something always seems to come up. Over four years ago I got involved in fashion photography and life became really crazy which led me to burn out and health problems in January of this year. Left the fashion world behind and made decision I would only photograph things that could not talk. So I went into nature photography. Well, I have asthma and got hit really hard with that nine weeks ago and been sick with it ever since!! I am getting better and manage to sneak outside a wee bit to take photos of back yard critters. It is so hot here and I know that is not helping my lungs either. Besides, who wants to do anything when it is so hot. If I felt good enough I would make a trip up north but stuck here in the house to get well. Like most things in life, this too shall pass and things sure could be far worse.
I hope this find everyone else doing well. |

Robert, I was looking at youtube and one can find quite a bit on there regarding the Outlander series. Were you able to at least watch Episode 1 and 2 on youtube? I did love that scene where Dougal and Jamie were playing Shinty, especially when Jamie won!!
Shadows...but, but Outlander has already been renewed for Season 2. Will you not watch it then?
I have said before I have read the first five books in the series and still need to read the last three as I have all 8 in my possession. But I will always love the first book, Outlander, the most. When I started the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, I put it down but really wanted to throw the book across the room. Thankfully I picked it back up and read through it. My other favorite of the book series is Voyager. But Outlander will always be the book and 1st season I will love the most.
I am going back and rewatching all episodes. I also have the subtitles on so I can understand what they're saying! lol I just wish they would have subtitles on when they're speaking in Scots Gaelic. |

Shadows, my sincere apologies for taking so long to get in here to see your photos. I really enjoyed them, especially the one of your dog. Such a beauty.
Our Mourning Doves look just like yours from what I can tell. I am always trying to photograph their nests. Unfortunately, they make really bad parents.
Keep up the great work. Really nice shots. |

I finally got in here!! I am so thrilled to be seeing my favorite books and characters come to life on screen. I subscribed to StARZ specifically to watch the Outlander series. So far I am very well pleased with how well it is being done.
I personally love the casting. Only person who did not fit my imaginary description in the books was Dougal. I pictured him looking more like Viggo Mortensen from Lord of the Rings. But then I can't have two men to drool over, eh? Jamie is not who I had pictured either but I do love the Jamie they casted. So I am pretty happy.
Shadows, like you, I have LOVE the music and cannot wait for the soundtrack. The music plays in my head all the time. I am very anxious to get a hold of the music to listen to it all the time.
And I am sure it is not going to be perfectly scripted to a T with the books as there will be creative liberties. But since Diana is consulting I think I can deal with it. |

Well I saw this photo on FB, too
Looking pretty good, eh?! Can hardly wait.
I don't particularly care for the Lord John Grey books, only because he has never been one of my favorite characters that stand out to me. Maybe the one with just he and Jamie. I forget the name of that book. I never also got the graphic novel. I wasn't impressed with it either.
I want a book on Dougal.

Hey Shadows! Very nice photos you got there. I love them all, the finch nest, the Harvest moon and sunset above the clouds. Hope you and your family are doing well. Looking forward to seeing your new photos for 2014! Take care, my friend. |

I always have good intentions to become more active here but FB always calls on me due to my photography when I get online.
I only wish Jamie's (Sam) hair was longer for the series. I can't remember if Diana describes Jamie with long hair or not -- or have I just assumed this in my mind?
I read last night the Starz series has been put off airing till June.
Like you, I hope it is a huge hit.
Have you read ALL the books now? I have collected several things from the books as well. |

Hey there Robert Phoenix!! Shame on me for not posting here in so long. I have been keeping up with the new Outlander TV series to come on Facebook. I believe it is to premiere in March? I have already switched to Starz in preparation. Can hardly wait.
Sadly, I haven't had time to read Gabaldon's books in SO long. But I am sure the series will get me back to reading them again and finishing the last two since a new book in the series is due to come out soon, too.
I am pretty happy with the cast so far, except for Dougal. He is just not who I picture in my head. hee hee.
Thanks for getting this thread out of the cobwebs.

Looking for some new Celtic Christian music. I love Eden's Bridge but it doesn't appear they have anything new. I also love upbeat Celtic Christian music. Just kind of behind in what's out there nowadays.
TIA |

Hey Shadows!! I used Portrait Professional for awhile. It is a really neat program. One has to be careful about opacity so not to make portraits look plastic-like though. Glad your enjoying it.
You might really like Lightroom 5. It is great for landscapes/nature. Has a ton of presets you can use to make your photos more artistic, if you wish.
You can do the same in PaintShop Pro, too. |

My goodness! I was reading all my replies from way back of what editing software I used. How time changes things.
I am currently using Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5. LOVE LR5.
Now Adobe is only offering a rental for anything CS6 and higher. LR is not included...yet.
I really love Adobe products but can't justify spending the rental fee of what they now call the Creative Cloud suite. So will make use of what I have now till I no longer can and then switch over to either PaintShop Pro or Aperture. |

We have been rescuing Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs) for close to 29 years. We love the breed and have had 8 of them. Right now we have three, Irish 15-1/2, Maggie 6-1/2 and Riley 5-1/2. Irish is starting to show and act her age now. Is getting arthritis real bad, limps and very wobbly when she stands and walks. I am so dreading that day.... |
