Celtic Fest Mississippi is an annual event held at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum since 1992, celebrating the traditional music and dance of the Celtic nations including Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Brittany. The festival has featured performances from many well-known Celtic musicians and artisans over the years. It has now grown to a 3-day event with multiple music/dance stages, several workshop areas, public dances, singing and music sessions, an educational children’s area, numerous Celtic exhibits, ample vending of food and Celtic specialty items. Celtic Fest Mississippi 2016 will be this September 9-11. Artists and events are now being finalized and the website will be updated as details become official. See http://celticfestms.org for additional information on this great festival.

The Kindred Spirits Whisky Tasting will be held Friday night September 9 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Tickets are $60 at the door / $40 advance online purchase. The Kindred Spirits Whisky Tasting enjoys the informal title as the Largest Whisky Tasting in the South, both in attendance and representation of the whiskies! See http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2594996 for ticket purchases and additional information.

Éamonn de Cógáin is widely regarded as Ireland’s most energetic MC. He has called céilí dances far and wide across the Emerald Isle and has now developed a name for himself stateside—from Minnesota to Mississippi. Eamonn will return to Celtic Fest to lead the popular Ceili Mor on Saturday night!

Other featured artist at this year’s Celtic Fest include Donie Carroll, John Walsh, The Máirtín de Cógáin Project, Tim Britton and many more. See http://celticfestms.org/wp/?page_id=127 for additional information on the performers and the workshops available.

We invite one and all to come out and participate in some Southern Irish hospitality. Hope to see you there!
