To all our beloved and friends in uniform or who have been in uniform. We salute you!!

To those who have paid the ultimate price, and given up their life for their country, not just in the Americas, but to those from all over the world who have fallen in service to their country, we remember you!

Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt

And to add to this, may God bless not only those who serve, but those to whom the service is done, that they may see, understand and appreciate the sacrifice of men and women who have paid the ultimate price:

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friend."

Thank you to all that serve in protecting freedom!

And in addition to greeting the men in the field this Veteran's Day, and wishing them heart, patience, and strength, I remember my father, who never told us kids what he went through in London and the Highlands during the Battle of Britain, but who taught us to stand and recite "In Flanders Fields" every year, and threaded the paper poppies on their green wires through our coat buttonholes.

There are so many memories this brings up - most are not good. I do remember the paper poppies in school every year - I think that was only back in the '50's and early '60's.

My father, too, had a lot that he couldn't share about the war in the pacific - it wasn't until I came back from overseas that we shared a little. When my wife and I were first married, she mentioned that I still had nightmares, even though I'd been back home for nearly four years.

I look forward to the time that there will no longer be war and that no one will shed tears for their loved ones who will not be coming back.

Ditto to all the comments made. Our soldiers are a special breed. We can never repay them properly.

[SIZE=7]GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR WHAT YOU DO FOR US!!

I really don't think there are any woeds that can express how I feel about the military people who unselfishly do their job day in and day out and are willing to do what it takes to "get r done"
