Now that I'm back.. yet again.. I have finally settled down and moved into my own apartment. I have collected a steady mate, he's mine and no one can have him! He's a cutie too! And I am pregnant!! woo!! this will be my first child. Still in the first trimester.. and boy.. I can tell. So, for now, no highland dance just too strenuous for my body. But, I still continue in the Scottish National dances.. flatfoot though; and I still dance medievally.. the really calm ones. I do get dizzy quite a bit and nausea.. expected.. but supposed to go away. I have also given up camping for the next two months. I can't seem to get comfortable.. and when I do.. don't you dare move me!!!! HAH! Oh yeah, my tasebuds are on strike now too. I don't even like chocolate anymore!! whaaaaaa!!!!!! but, other than that.. i love it I just keep thinking.. yeah, in 2 years, this kid is learning how to dance! by the way, I got a teaching gig in April at our local arts center for highland dance!! woooo!
A new baby, how wonderful! Just like Mac said, there is nothing on God's earth that is more wonderful and precious than a baby. Be sure and take your prenatal vitamins. When is your due date? I hope your nausea goes away and you get your appetite back.
well i've had a bit of a rough week. insurance denying me. my current policy cancelled me. this whole thing.. pre-existing condition. wow. i thought if it was pre-existing, it would have already been happening?? what is it with insurance companies? don't they know how much money they can make on a baby?? anyways, at a total loss, i went to the local health department. I was totally surprised. This place is clean, beautiful and extremely helpful. Wait, I have to repeat.. extremely helpful. I've been told so many stories about my local health department, and they're all good! I had my first appointment last week and finally got my vitamins. Just one big pill. ick! I also got a goodie bag with videos, book, and all this try-me stuff. Oh yes, and tons of coupons! I got a due date of June 25th. I've already had a sonogram and got to see the heartbeat. Though, they wouldn't let me keep the pictures I do hope the nausea goes away. It seems to come in spurts. no pun intended *eww* today is bad, but yesterday, virtually none at all ok. i'm so ready for another nap! thanks for all the good wishing I bought my first pair of maternity clothing yesterday!! A nice pair of black stretchy pants, belled at the bottom.
Oh Falachaidh, I wore bells back in the 70's, actually hip-huggers. Now my 8 year old granddaughter wears them all the time. My daughter no.2, just had a baby in August, she was sick quite a bit the whole time she was pregnant and kept the heartburn. Just wait til you feel him/her kick you for the first time. It is so wonderful!
I remember my mom wearing bells and hip huggers and platform boots.. and all those merged into a slim-lined 80's style. Now I heard the 80's are coming back! At Target last night, I almost bought a pair of boots.. brown supple leather, patchworked with a slight platform and block heel. I thought better of my balance being off.. so I decided not to get them!
I do have to say the heartburn never goes away unless I eat a frosty from Wendy's. LOL! But then it just returns. Must be going.
Congrats Julia! Babies are quite a handful, and I as much as I enjoy being a mother, I am glad that I am out of the "baby business" - I much prefer to wait for the grandbabies to come now!
Bell Bottoms, OMG! A cracker on your nitestand, which you eat, before getting up, should help with the nausea. Peppermint candies sometimes helps the heartburn.
Julia, I forgot to add crongrats to Travis - I am sure he is a very proud papa!
When I was preggers with my first one I craved Frosties and french fries from Wendy's. Something about the cold and sweet juxtaposed against the hot and salty...my husband would go to the drive thru and order a whole meal - Frosty, fries, and a double burger because he was too embarrassed to order just the fries and frosty! Men can be so silly sometimes!!
THe saltines have been by th ebed for about a week now. I have to agree a frosty from Wendy's is the greatest thing ever created! I've already figured out *that* smell I can't stand.. bacon in the morning. UCK!!!!! It's just too much!
I went to my checkup today and everything came out very healthy and normal. I'm very happy.
