I am a LONG time listener who realized I would never win any of those wonderful CDs if I didn't post. I used to post at one board but didn't like all the hateful postings, so I guess that's why I've been hesitant to jump in here.

I love bagpipes and Gaelic music--I fixed my own ringtones for my cell and my son's using "What's Left of the Flag." Believe me, THAT one gets attention.

Like most of the population in my area, I have Scot-Irish ancestry. I'm a genealogy buff, and when I learned that a longer second toe is supposedly a genetic characteristic passed on by Scots, I was on the computer e-mailing all my cousins to take off their socks and check their toes.

Howdy, Childofthemist, from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. Glad you decided to jump in and post. Don't worry about "hateful" postings. To be sure, there are some intense debates in the political threads and so forth, but at the end of the day, we all get along pretty well. My good friend, John Clements, and I have have some pretty intense debates, but I still consider him a good guy. He can't help it that he's wrong when he disagrees with me tongue.gif ! Try the game forums or other threads that are less controversial. Lots of fun in those!

Welcome aboard and have a great day!

Hello and welcome ChildoftheMist!

We are very glad to welcome you here and hope that you agree - the music is great and the forums are fun/interesting, but above all, we are founded on being hospitable to one another. I can only guess what it must be like to "belong" to a group where anything that could be construed as hateful goes on - Lady of Avalon said it right, that stuff isn't tolerated. eek.gif

So have a nice walk-about and visit our forums (like haynes9 mentioned) - they're your forums too now! Let us know if you have any questions or comments - they're always welcomed. I look forward to reading your future posts - have a wonderful weekend!

Best cheers! Robbie

Welcome Child of the Mist - from Georgia. I have been here since July and love this place, the music and mostly the people. LIke I have commented before, we are one big family.
As for the long second toe, my sister, my mother and grandmother(recently decesased at 97) all have/had a longer 2nd toe. I don't. My grandmother used to say that that was a sign of "bossiness" - with my sister that's true (only kidding). I wound up with both my little fingers bowing inwards slightly. It makes for interesting typing. I have met cousins from different lines in my family that have the same thing -weird.

Anyway, welcome to CR. Hope you enjoy your time here.
