A couple of people have asked about moving to Scotland to make it a permanent thing..I finally found in my home the info I spoke of earlier, so here's what I have....if any questions contact some of the agencies I have listed in this page...

Every country has immigration laws, regulations and restrictions including the UK and obtaining permission to live and work there can be difficult but not impossible.

Many Non-UK Nationals shortcut process by being married to a British citizen or by having British parents. They have a legal right to live and work in UK. If this applies to you ask for a "Right of Abode" in the United Kingdom" entitlement certificate at the Immigration Advisory Service below.

Unskilled people seeking permission to live and work in U K on a permanent basis have to prove that they can financially support themselves and their dependents without recourse to the British Welfare and benefit systems.

Since 2002 there is a New program "Highly Skilled Migration Programme" which provides a route for individuals who have skills and experience required by the UK to compete in the global economy. Any British Embassy or the address below can provide forms and info.

Another new program to assist you is the "Innovators" immigration scheme for individuals who wish to set up businesses especially in the areas of science and technology (including e-commerce). The requirements are you must have enough money to finance your business for the first 6 months after you arrive in the UK. Info can also be obtained at the office below.

You can also contact their office by: www.homeoffice.gov.uk. Then click on "Immigration and Nationality" on the left side of the page.

Immigration and Nationality Directorate
Lunar House
40 Wellesley St
Croydon CR92BY
Great Britian
Their phone # is: 011-44-870-606-7766

Also the Immigration Advisory Service a charity with more than 30 years of experience can help with issues surrounding a move to Scotland.
Their Address is:
Immigration Advisory Service
County House
190 Great Dover St
London SE4YB
Great Britian
Their phone # is: 011-44-207-967-1200
Their Fax# is: 011-44-207-378-0665
Web: www.iasuk.org

I hope it helps those who asked for this info...
Sincerely,
Annabelle
