first, you have to save the .pls, and transfer it to your pocket pc
second, download GSPlayer (supports shoutcast)
http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/gsplayer.shtml (yes, it's freeware)
third, connect to internet
note: broadband (stereo) requires the connection below
1. bluetooth through host or access point to broadband
2. wireless LAN or wifi
3. EDGE, CDMA 1X or WCDMA mobile connection
fourth, go!

I can confirm that listening to Highlander Radio using GSPlayer works with Wi-Fi (LAN--803.11b CFcard and 802.11b router) and Vision (SprintPCS), but not with GPRS (T-Mobile--connection speed just under 26 Kbs appears to be too slow). For some reason, I can connect to Radio Scotland with GPRS (using RealOne Player), but not Highlander Radio.

Tonight we are going to go LIVE with our new windows only stream! This might help with the mobile devices (which are probably mostly windows). It will be a 32kps stereo stream and from what I understand windows 9 compresses better than winamp, so it should sound very good. Hopefully this will be compatible with mobile devices. We do have plans to have a completely mobile website down the road a bit. Check our frontpage around 6:00 pm tonight for the links and details!

but windows media has some bad behavior
and very slow through overseas
for example, I listen WFUV (weekend Celtic program, wfuv.org)
it's okay, but I got disconnected sometimes
but when I listen to RTHK (from Hong Kong), it's horrible (even unable to connect)
I prefer Real Audio 8, it's good even with GPRS

yes!
I made it working
I have another post to talk about that
but 32kbps is too much for GPRS
20kbps is a compromised bitrate (audio quality goes worse)
