EAMON IRELAND
Our Love Is Gold CD Review
Listening to all ten tracks I am left with a feeling that I am taking a heartfelt journey through Eamon’s life, loves and personal experiences. I really don’t know much about his life, but this is what I feel when listening to the songs on this wonderful album.
His angelic, clear and soft voice makes you melt into submission and want to hear much more, his trait as a perfectionist shines through in each and every track. Having the opportunity to get to know a little about Eamon, I found he has a great sense of humor and a pure heart of gold just like the title of his CD. The fact that he writes, sings and produces all his music is an outstanding achievement and leaves me totally in awe of this young man.
You have to understand; Eamon had no professional training, wasn’t brought up around music what-so-ever and has had no help from anyone in the music industry…what you’ll hear listening to Our Love Is Gold is pure god-given talent. I love that I can hear his Irish accent come through in his music as well as the Irish dialect; for example in Katie Riordan, his words; “kettle on the boil waits for me” - instead of - “kettle on the stove”
While listening to the words of his songs, there are so times I can relate to what he is singing; if I can relate I am positive many others have that same personal feeling towards his music. What a special gift that is!
I am ever so anxious to hear much more from Eamon, I am very certain that we will in the future.
Eamon has since added four other songs to his Reverbnation playlists that didn’t make this album, he states, because he didn’t think they were good enough and he was being too critical of himself; my opinion, they are just as good as the rest and sincerely hope they are on his next CD, almost positive they will be.
They are: Tide nor Time – Follow Me – Sticks and Stones – Running Free

My Thoughts on a couple of the most popular tracks...

Island Girl

If you knew Eamon you would totally understand that through his life his love has been to explore different islands off the coasts of Ireland and other countries; in this song he has found love with a beautiful island girl….wonderful island love story…very romantic

Katie Riordan

Eamon won the UK Songwriting Contest for Katie Riordan; a Prestigious annual UK songwriting competition from the BRIT Trust and The World Music Foundation.” – listening to it you’ll understand why; love the irish derelict; maybe a true character, definitely a story bout a young family going through some difficult times and their love getting them through it all.
