Ever since I have gotten this computer, Windows XP, I constantly get this "javascript error" when I am in certain sites! This is so exasperating. Is it my pop-up blocker causing the problem. What does this mean and what can I do about it?

does it tell you more about what the javascript error is? And perhaps a link to one of the pages where you get the error so we can investigate and see if it's the site or on your end.

Okay it says this!

Java script error
Description: invalid property value
Source: http://wwww.celticradio.net/php/gallery/albmgr.php
line: 180

I got this when I tried to upload photos to the gallery.

But I also get it when I go to "View new posts" I think it must be my popup blocker. However, I tried disabling it and yet I still get the message! boo hoo.

That doesn't sound like the problem is on your computer Rose. I'm fairly familiar with JavaScript and it sounds more like a problem with the code in the web page. Had you tried to upload pictures to the gallery before you got your new computer?

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.

I was able to create a gallery fine this weekend although you do need to actually hit a "make gallery" button first (I can't seem to remember which one it was otherwise I'd provide the link) before you can upload a picture. Perhaps you haven't done that yet?

Todd! This computer is less than a year old and every time I try to do something like load pictures into a gallery I get this "javascript error." I had the same problem on another site I belonged to. I just tried to upload pics last night for the first time and I did hit "make gallery" and it still wouldn't work. Oh well, just wondering why I keep getting this error and if I needed to download something for my Windows XP. I had downloaded Sun Java hoping that would work, maybe that was a mistake! unsure.gif Thanks!

As a side note, Sun's Java is very good. Javascript is an different kettle of fish and it depends on who wrote your browser.
I'm not sure what your level of comfort is, but you can try another browser (FireFox or Opera are fine things to use) to see if the issue is your browser settings (which would probably be resolved by changing the zone settings in IE) or if something else is in error (other software blocking etc)

Thanks Tallyrand! I have Internet Explorer with Windows XP. I downloaded Sun Java and I have that already. It is hard to explain, but just with certain things do I get this javascript error. Wish I was smart enough about computers to tell you what, when and why. unsure.gif
