I don't know how well you know the work of Steve Irwin over there, but here he's a regular on the TV and I've always loved watching him.

It's all over the news this morning that he has been killed in a diving accident whilst filming

My heart goes out to his family at this extremely sad time - he will be sorely missed by the world.

What sad news! He was certainly a different dude, and that's what made him appealing. The report we have here is that he died of a stingray barb to the heart. Truly a unique individual and it's sad to hear of his passing.

Wow! I didn't realize who this was until I went to the site. His stunts were legendary, but in the theatrics, he educated a great many people.

He will truly be missed.

Such a sad event. And two little children left behind. Didn't his wife work with him on the shows?

I am so saddened by this. I pray for his wife, his children, friends, family.. It is a major loss in my opinion that was one show on television I enjoyed...

Yes, it is a sad thing for all those left behind. But he went doing the thing he loved, and we ALL should be so lucky!

Very very sad news indeed. But at least he left this earth doing what he enjoyed most...working with mammals. He will be extremely missed.

I will miss him a lot. I loved his shows and his zest for life! My heart goes out to Terry, Bindi Sue, and little Bob. I feel sad that his children will not have the opportunity to finish growing up with him in their lives. sad.gif rip_1.gif

Irish Stepper! I feel the same as you. He will be extremely missed by his little ones who loved him dearly ...as well as his wife! I know that his job could have always included a horrible scenario, but I just always hoped it would never happen. I still grieve for them all. But I have a strong feeling this his daughter, Bindi, is going to carry on the cause!

I too loved his shows. Yes, for him it was an "appropriate" end happening during his job and what he loved to do.
It's hard and very sad for the family he left. My best wishes for them.
