Celtic Radio Community > General Discussion > Celtic dj?

I just visited the chatroom this morning and there was someone/something there called the Celtic DJ. Is this an actual person, or just a "automatic" type of computer program? :O

You know what I think would  be fun - if any of us come to the message board and see others are there too - we could all hop over to the chatboard for an impromtu coffee clatch sort of chat. I seem to be better able to do spontanteous chatting much better than the regularly scheduled chats. Let me know what you think - the chatroom is actually oopen 24/7 so we can yack at one another any time!

The chatboard at this link does not work.

So I guess we will need to use the one that is from the CelticRadio main webpage?

Can you post a link to that chat board, scottish2? I have tried to link to it, but I keep getting a message about "Mulitcity no longer support the free version of this chat board, etc...."

Just dawned on me that it was my chatroom you were trying to use. By all means use the one on Paul's site I am linking into that on my next update. My boards OK but very tame compared to Pauls great chatroom with all the neat features. So your second link below is correct in fact will update my link this afternoon if I get a chance.

Hello!

I agree with kylassie. We should pop up on the chat when we want (or when we have the time). It's the best way to talk freely and meet everyone. Well, it's my point of view.

Take care all!

:D  I agree with both kylassie and Mel.  It would be nice to chat with anyone who was using the forum when any of us are on also.  I'm game.   (coffee) chats would be nice.

The CelticDJ person you see in the chat room is called a 'bot.' A bot, in computer terms, is an automated program that displays artificial type intelligence. In the case of CelticDJ, he is a very stupid BOT, but one that can perform a number of functions.

He displays the currently playing song plus he has some built in commands. Read the chat screen and he will tell you how to access his built in commands. (like request a song, show current songs in the queue, etc.)

Dave had a great idea and I am going to look into this. If it were possible to tie the forum together with chat. That way, you see that someone is on and perhaps there is a link to chat. I will research and determine if there is a chat client that works with this forum software.

This thought came last night after completing work on our new pop-up menu system.

How about we create a small pop-up menu system in the forum (perhaps below the logo) where you can access chat and tune-in buttons quickly?

This can be implemented very quickly and will make it easier to get to chat very quickly from the forum? Also a few tune-in buttons so that people that save the forum as a favorite will not need to go to the main page to listen to the broadast.

Any comments?

:D Yes that would be great. So if we came in and someone else is here, a quick impromtu chat would pop up inviting the other to chat.  That would be so awsome. It would take a genius to do though.
