Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt
The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools. -- Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
Although they do not hold a St. Patrick's Day parade today in Angola, IN, I am comforted by the memories of those parades that I DID have the pleasure to see and to participate in --- the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade in the 60s that was headed up by the Kennedy family and Cardinal Spellman, and several of the St. Patrick's Day parades held in Chicago, where they dye the river green! . and where 500,000+ Irish-Americans celebrate the day in good Irish fashion! And, my friends, the emoticons tell the story! My best wishes to you all, and 'may you be in Heaven a half an hour before the devil knows you're dead!!!'
Happy St. Paddy's Day. I tip my Tullimore to all of you!

If you were accused of being a Christian, would your enemies have enough evidence to convict you? -Ralph Waldo Emerson
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him keep pace with the music he hears, however measured or far away. -Henry David Thoreau
Pray as if everything depended on God, and work as if everything depended upon man. - Cardinal Francis J. Spellman
Well I certainly enjoyed reading everyone's greetings and comments here!! This has been a great day for Highlander Radio and our website. We had nearly 250 people listening to our broadcast at one point during the day.
This thread has got to have set a record. 89 replies in 1 day!!!!
No relief for me on this St. Paddy's Day, as I have to teach tonight, but I'll be thinking about all of you out drinking green beer! And for the New York branch with the brisk weather, here in LA it was 80 degrees and sunny...

Described as "bagpipes with an attitude," the energy and vitality that Wolfstone brings to the stage is infectious; their audiences are often brought to their collective feet with the opening notes of the first tune. Wolfstone and Mark saul in concert together..theres 1 heck of a shindig !!

To watch us irish dance is to hear our hearts speak! Life... is like a grapefruit. It's orange and squishy, and has a few pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast. Douglas Adams A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. Eleanor Roosevelt
I have just finished watching "The Quiet Man" and putting a good sized dent in a bottle of Jameson's while the wife drank Carolan's Irish creme. That has been our St Patrick's day tradition for about twenty years or so now. It keeps us off the streets and gives us something to look forward to doing. Once a year is just about right to view the movie but it gets better as the whiskey and Irish creme go down. By the time the fight scene starts I can't figure out why it didn't win the Oscar for best picture. Really though, it is a fun movie for about one viewing a year. I hope this has been a great St. Patrick's Day for all out there in cyberland.
