Has anyone seen Ladder 49?
I won't give it away until I know if you've seen it, just will say that it was unexpected at the least...I loved it...at least most of it.

I saw Ladder 49, I cried. but that's nothing new for me. But, I was a bit disappointed.

We also saw Raise your Voice; my girls just love Hillary Duff.

I have heard mixed reviews on Ladder 49. My cousin who is married to a retired fireman said they loved it and how life is like in that world. Then I heard others were disappointed in it. I am a big John Travolta fan, but I think I will wait till it comes out in DVD..............or has it already and I am clueless? unsure.gif

It is out, Rose, but I wouldn't call you clueless!
It's very good, just that I think the ending could have been changed.

How about The Incredibles and Cellular?

Watched them both last night, they were great and worth every bit of the good reviews they got, IMHO.

Incredibles was a riot and Jason Stratham was awesome as the bad guy. I liked him much better in "The Italian Job" though!

I just purchased Moulin Rouge at Best Buy. I've seen it in the past and liked it. It was on the $9.99 rack. I figured why not.

I watched quite a movie last night..........Monster! The movie with Charlize Theron! Wow! What an intense movie! I can see why Charlize won an oscar for her performance! She was incredible! It was a very sad movie though. That lady she played had a very hard life.

I agree with you on that cr, she had a awful life. It's been awhile since I saw it. She does a great job.

My sisters and I went to see "The Pacifier" starring Vin Diesel. It was pretty typical Disney polt-wise, but there were some good lines and situations - tweens and up will get a bigger laugh than younger kids.

I'm eagerly awaiting for National Treasure to come out on DVD. Did anyone go to see it in the theaters? When is it supposed to come out on DVD?

We saw Ladder 49 last week. Hubby and I both liked it. I also cried at the end! biggrin.gif

I just found out something very gross...

I was reading about "Moulin Rouge!" on IMDb.com and I found out that one of the people that had been considered for Nicole Kidman's role of Satine was Courteney Love puke.gif .

It wouldn't have been much of a stretch for her, playing a "lady of the night".

Oh no! sorry folks, I just don't care for Courtney Love. I haven't seen the movie, but you can't beat Nicole Kidman in anything.

She was good in "The People vs. Larry Flynt", but that wasn't much of a stretch for her.

I just don't have much use for her. To this day, I still believe she knows more about her husband Kurt Cobain's death than she ever told police.

Yeah, I would agree with you there, Mike. She cleaned up her act there for awhile and was so very pretty and now she has let herself go and it is a shame because she has a really sweet daughter to care for. I also think she is a good actress too. Hopefully one day she will get it together again.

I do respect her for keeping her daughter Frances out of the public eye.
