I am finally back online. Got my internet connected today around noon (Germany Time).

We had a long trip and were happy to finally get of the plane. After that we had to get on the bus and drive even further - my behind still hurts when I think of it.

After about a week we were assigned on post housing - I like my bathroom and kitchen a lot - other than that - I need to renovate quite a bit - but at least I am right in the center here. My car should come within a few days now and I will be picking it up on Friday the 30th in Bremerhaven.

My son is in school and thinks it's a real downgrade. Here they have elementary school till 6th grade. So he had to go back from Middle School to Elementary. What a drag. We are doing okay. Got my computer yesterday and finally have phone and internet again.

I missed being online here for so long. It will take some time to catch up with all of that has happened here.

See you all around.

With many Greetings from the snowy and cold Baumholder, Germany
Ami aka Monarchs Own

Welcome back to Highlander, Ami! Glad you've gotten settled in (kinda sorta tongue.gif ). Looking forward to your posting again.

Take care and have a great day!

Hi Ami. Glad to hear that you and your family made the move in good shape. Temperatures in central NC have been in eighties all week (except Wednesday, it was "only" sixty). Hope things continue to go well. It's good to have you back.

Hallo und Willkommen zurck, Monarchs Own!

I'm glad you've arrived safely and I hope that you and your family will enjoy your new home! It's always difficult moving to a new area, but at least you have a leg-up with knowing the country and the language! When my wife (who is Taiwanese) and I were overseas, it was a blessing to have "my best half" there to help me where I could never have made progress. I know that you are the same kind of blessing to your hubby and son!

Anyway, please let us know if we can help - we are certainly sending our prayers that all goes well.

Best cheers! Robbie

Thanks for all the warm welcome backs! Yes it's all coming together now. We got our cars finally here. My husband got to pick up his truck on Tuesday and tomorrow on Friday we will travel all the way up to Bremerhaven to pick up my SUV. I can't wait.

This Easter we will be having my parents over to paint the appartment new. Then we just have to wait for our furniture to come.

I guess even my husband - first he was not very happy to get here and wanted to leave right away - starts getting to like this place. I think he was just worried that nothing is turning out right. But from what I see - it's falling all into place.

I am still running around to do things. Today they have a Middle School orientation meeting for the parents. This will give me an idea on what courses my son has to have and which will be optional.

I hope that we will be able to start relaxing soon a bit. I think that will happen when we got all our stuff and have it unpacked.

It's got to be crazy. We are going to help my daughter and her husband pack for China. Just hope all of their stuff gets there in good order.

Glad things are coming together!
