There are some pretty resourceful people on this site and they have a great talent for finding things when I need to find them and I have something I've been looking for and can't find it.
So -----Help!

For 2 years I have been trying to find a copy of the picture "Culloden" by David Morier and was painted in 1746.

This is the painting that hangs in the welcome center at Culloden Battlefield welcome center.
I have tried finding this everywhere. Usually you can find someone who carries military prints and get it thru them but no one knows where you can get one of this painting...
The Origional is part of the Queen's collection but last I had information which is years old it was on display on a tour at a museum in Inverness. I have no idea where it is now. But I'd really like to find a copy of this picture for my home.
To me it is probaby the best depliction of the battle ever done and I'd love to find it...help me everyone! crybaby.gif

Thanks so much for your efforts!
Annabelle

Is this the piece you're talking about? No, I haven't found anyone selling prints, but I'm still looking. smile.gif

There you have it, lass. They're in prelaunch, so I'm not sure if the order forms work yet. None the less, contact them and tell them you're looking for a copy of 'Culloden'.

Yes, you may kiss the ring now. king.gif

If that online ordering site doesn't work out I could have a look around Inverness for you, there's bound to be somewhere there that sells replicas/prints of it.

Yes, snow blind that would be great. There is suppose to be a store down town that offers copies of this painting but I could never find it. I asked the lady at the Welcome Center where I could obtain a copy of it and she said there were stores downtown that carried them but We never found it.

OLDRAVEN that site only offers oil paintings no prints. I still need help here!
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!

I'd like to find a large print around 24" X 36" or larger of this painting. It's an awesome picture. At this point I'm not going to be picky but I thought I'd put my wish list out there.

Snowblind that would be great if you can check it out and let me know.
Thanks,
Annabelle

Annabelle:

I have bought a number of prints from a friend who we met through the festivals. He specializes in military prints so if he doesn't have it, he should know where to get it. His website is at http://www3.sympatico.ca/ghanbuch/index.html. He doesn't have all of his prints listed so you might want to shoot off an e-mail to him.

One of the prints that I bought from Greg (The Olde Guard) was "Culloden - The Aftermath", signed by the artist Brian Wood. This has to be my favourite Culloden painting.

If you are unable to get hold of him, let me know. I might actually give him a call in the next few days so if you haven't contacted him, I can find out for you.

I should be able to have a look either this weekend or the weekend after that. If I can find it I'll note prices and see if they ship to the US. So between this and the others looking for sites that sell them, it's a safe bet that one way or another you'll get it eventually smile.gif

How long is it since you were here?

2 years ago. I come over every other year to visit family that live in Huntley. I spent some time out at the Isle of Skye doing some drawing and Photo work that year. Then went over to Huntley to see family.
I like Inverness. It's big enough to be a good size town, while not too big like Edinburgh to be overwhelming.
I'm really not a big city girl.
I was suppose to be there right now in Inverness (had rented a house for the week) but my son's getting married and money will only go so far.
Thanks for taking the time to look for me! Your terrific!
