Senator John Kerry visited Iraq recently. Says Ben of Ben of Mesopotamia:

QUOTE

On Saturday night, a colleague emailed me and told me to bring my camera, as Senator Kerry was scheduled to give a press conference here in the Palace. At 2100, he entered a conference room wearing his leather flight jacket. Unfortunately, there was no media there, except for the enlisted soldiers from AFTN (Armed Forces Television Network) who had to be there. His aide looked around, saw that this just wasnít happening, and quickly escorted Kerry out before I could take a picture.

Finally, the next morning, Senator Kerry ate chow at the Dining Facility. Normally when a Senator/Representative visits, he is joined by a contingent of soldiers/Marines/airmen from his home state. Despite the fact that the MP unit responsible for Green Zone security is an Army Reserve unit from Massachusetts, not a single soldier went to sit with him. (By contrast, Bill OíReilly, host of that terrible shoutfest on Fox, had over 400 soldiers waiting in line to meet him on Saturday).

WDAYís (AM 970, Fargo, ND) Scott Hennen quotes a message from a friend serving in Iraq:

QUOTE

This is a true story Ö Check out this photo from our mess hall at the US Embassy yesterday morning. Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. He canceled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.

What is amazing is Bill OíReilly came to visit with us and the troops at the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!

All those tax dollars wasted on a failed photo op. Gee thanks John. Might have been better spent on "the big dig".

Just curious, but could it be that Mr. Kerry was in the wrong mess hall? The photo shows the union jack on the wall. Was this the British mess hall?

Most likely it is a "photoshop" job and totally falacious.

I didnít trouble the likes the greatest, Ali, or Mickey Mantle, or John Lennon for their autograph. But I certainly would have brook bread with John Kerry that day, just daring anyone to call me an idiot, for doing so.

Of course it is. Look at the lighting mismatch and the line around Kerry's figure. One of our grandkids could do as well, with the little round-edge scissors and a glue stick.

Dogshirt -- you got so MANY dogs! Do they all have more integrity? tongue.gif That's amazing!

Your dog may have more integrity, assuming that youíre referring to John Kerryís integrity and not mine?
But I canít disagree with you, dog, because dogs in general have more integrity then us.

Oh to be computer savvy...... I was also wondering who are those folks with the white shirts & vests. Do we have waiters/esses in the mess these days?
