The pronunciation is 'Koo kul lan' but said all together. That is as helpfull as I can be.

If you say the word Kill you have the start of the K and now say Koo

Next take that same K and say Ulster

Now add the K and the UL

Now go for lan. Say land, but take off the d

Now add the whole lot together KooKullan

The Popes

originally formed by the man himself SHANE MacGOWAN are in the process of releasing a new album in September 2008 called 'Outlaw Heaven'.

This track has been re recorded and features Shane MacGowan and Spider Stacy of the Pogues. A preview of this track can be heard on the Popes site at The Popes website. Please preview this track and let me know what you think and pass on the info to anyone who might be interested. All comments will be passed back to Paul and The boys with the Popes. Their last release was back in 2000 with Holloway Boulevard which received huge critical acclaim. This new album is going to really hit the high spots

Best Regards

For those of you who have seen the new releases. Take a moment and visit probably the best Singer / Songwriter of 2007. His name is Ciaran Dorris and while his album has one track that doesn't belong to him. The rest is his own material and is sheer class from start to finish. This guy is going to be huge and this is a debut album !!

This might sound strange but No Celtic Boundaries are looking for people with foreign languages (apart from English) to record the following text that can be used in various programmes.

The Text is : "Good Evening and Welcome, This is No Celtic Boundaries"

I know that all you brilliant Celtic Radio listeners are bound to be able to help me and there will be a prize awarded to the person who really shines !!!

Please e mail me all recordings to [email protected]

Technology has finally caught up with No Celtic Boundaries. All our interviews are now going to be available on the website at No Celtic Boundaries . Go to the Interviews page and scroll down to the picture of The Celtic Tenors. The interviews are just underneath. They play in Windows Media Player. There are going to be further updates with more and more interviews appearing but to start the ball rolling I have the pleasure of introducing both Interviews with The Celtic Tenors which were conducted in February 2007 in Holland.

Happy Listening

Greetings all,

A strange topic, but as there have been so many interviews I have been conducting over past weeks including some very high profile Celtic Musicians, I NEED YOU, the listeners of Celtic Radio to give me some feedback.

What I intend to do is e mail you a copy of a show, once you give me an idea of your taste: Celtic Rock, Contemporary, Celtic/Classical crossover, Folk etc and then wait for your honest appraisal.

It is really that simple.

Drop me a line at [email protected] with your own details and preferences and hopefully I can improve in presenting and produce what you want to hear.

Warm Regards from Scotland

Here on No Celtic Boundaries I have just been given amazing information regarding the about to be launch of an incredible 7 piece band upon the Scottish Celtic Scene.

While I have been asked not to give away too much info at this point, I can confirm they are called 'Black Sheep' and are fronted by one of Scotlands leading Songwriters, Mr Ivan Drever. The rest of the band are equally impressive and are going to give the Scottish Scene a much needed boot up the backside.

A 3 track EP is being pressed as we speak and is due for release in the coming weeks.

I cant give out too much info at the moment but will let you all know release dates and other info as I get them, but what is exciting is that No Celtic Boundaries might just get the exclusive for you all here on Celtic Radio.

Knowing the pedigree and knowing their styles, this band is likely to be 'HUGE'. They have already been booked for festivals on the strength of who is in the band.

More to come shortly

Well done Lynda,
I did this before and like you am not great with heights.
When you are up there, you will find that your fear might probably disappear, mine did. Views take over . It's when you are back on the ground that you suddenly start thinking about what you did. It is very quiet on your descent.

Good Luck

No Celtic Boundaries has for three years been broadcasting on Lochbroom FM in the Highlands of Scotland and more recently on Highlander radio.

It has now come to the point that, due to the shows popularity, and my own work load increasing, that I am now looking for a co presenter from outwith of the UK.

The show is entirely on a voluntary basis, I earn no income from it, but a great deal of satisfaction.

Do you have the following,

Three to four hours per month spare to put together a couple of shows ?

A love for Celtic Music ?

A reasonable understanding of how your computer works and how you might be able to edit a show?

The ability to talk to people (you might be conducting an interview or two) ?

A sense of fun ?

Then if you are interested google my website No Celtic Boundaries, take a look around, and then e mail me your details at [email protected] and I will respond as quickly as I can. (please allow 24hrs for this, I do need to sleep). Please outline your own personal details and how you might think the show should progress here on Highlander, also in Scotland and anywhere else in the world we all might go.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Charles

It has been staggering the requests I have received for copies of not only the Deirdre Shannon Interview, but The Celtic Tenors one and so on.

Unfortunately I can't keep up sending out more, the costs are horrendous, both in shipping and my subscriptions to a ftp that allows me to e mail large files.

I must ask for a 'donation' of $10 to cover my costs. This is something I hoped to avoid, but to date have sent out a staggering 176 copies of various interviews. I must be doing something right.

The interviews are

Deirdre Shannon (Who is she I hear you cry)

Brian Kennedy (Brilliant interviewee)

Mairtin de Cogain (One of the stars of 'The Wind that shakes the Barley' (Hillarious at times)

Maartin Allcock (x Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention. What a story to tell)

Kieran Halpin (Brilliant Irish Singer Songwriter)

The Celtic Tenors (What more can I say)

Rod Quinn (An unbelievable drummer from Ireland who has played for Deirdre Shannon, The Celtic Tenors, Lulu, Roger Daltry, Marc Roberts and so many others.

I hope none of you will be offended by my request. None of these interviews take away from the exceptional material these artists produce and to this end I will not divulge the material I use in each interview prior to ordering. These Interviews belong to No Celtic Boundaries and must never be posted, broadcast or copied without consent.

Please make payments via Paypal to [email protected] This is my Paypal account number

Remember to state which interview you would like and if you would like it e mailed (preferable) or on a hard copy. E mail me your choice at [email protected]

Regards

Her track, She moved through the Fair, is not original. Sounded awful due to over instrumentation. This track should be sung without any form of backing.Clannad did their version, end of story

Greetings all,

There is a tiny wee error, The Interview I did tonight is with the Celtic Tenors, not the Irish Tenors.

For those of you interested, In the Rugby six nations, France beat us Scots, Ireland beat the Italians and at present Wales are running circles around the English.

I have two autographed Deirdre Shannon CD's to be won with a very simple question. Deirdre signed these when I joined her and the Celtic Tenors recently in Holland where I was interviewing them for my No Celtic Boundaries programme here in Sotland and on Highlander Radio.

Deirdre won our 'Album of the Year' award for 2006 but who won Musician of the year award.

The answer is easy to find. Just have a look around my website 'No Celtic Boundaries'. Just Google it and send me an e mail at [email protected]. The first two correct entries arriving in my in box will get this amazing album.

Happy Hunting

Had nothing planned, but as usual will be recording more shows for No Celtic Boundaries on Highlander Radio. This WILL be interupted by the Scotland v England Rugby match. Then maybe a beer or three to celebrate another fine Scottish victory. Last time we had anything to shout about was in 1314 at the Battle of Bannockburn where we sent them home with their tailes between their legs. (oh the joys of hearing an Englishman crying in their beer after a Scotland / England Rugby Union match !!!)

No Celtic Boundaries, Broadcasting in the Western Highlands of Scotland and now on Highlander Radio are looking to you all for your input as to what you want to hear on No Celtic Boundaries programmes. It is vitaly important that we get your feedback so the shows can be made around all your wishes rather than what we on No Celtic Boundaries might think you want to hear.

Since the programme started in Scotland a few years ago we have had the pleasure of conducting endless reviews of albums, mostly from the UK, but would love to receive albums from further afield so that we can include them in future shows. You might be able to actually educate us !!!

Please visit the web site at www.nocelticboundaries.com and contact us through the contacts section.

Best wishes from the Highlands of Scotland

An amazing album combining both pipes with more modern instrumentalisation. Best Track : Battle but not quite played with the Power that Wolfstone deliver, but nonetheless a great album
