Presure from the Scottish Parliament is encouraging BBC to use more traditional Scots wordds in it's broaddcasts to help keep the language alive. A list of 100 words has been drawn up which preenters are being asked to iuse on air. The list includes glaikit (stupid) ddreich (dreary, tiresome, long winded) crabbit (Bad temper) an haar (a cold se mist on the east coast). BBC iniders say some presenters feel more at ease with Scots words thn others and already use them as part of their normal vocabulary.

It's great to keep the language alive!

Camchak,

That reminds me of some of the great BBC shows from the outer hebradies.
