One of my favorite series of books is the "First North American Series" by Kathleen and Michael Gear. These are well researched books, much of which is based on archaeological discoveries, then the story beefed out from there. Both authors are well known in the field of archaeology and anthropolgy and use their knowledge to weave great tales.

Probably the most interesting book I have read is titled, "The Creature From Jekyl Island". I have bought two, loaned them and neither has come back. That is usually the sign of a good book. Parts of the book make it easy for your attention to wander but most is riviting. It describes the history of the Federal Reserve and the banking/monetary system as we know it today. I bought my last copy from "The Million Story Book Store." Since the economy is funky I am buying another copy and will read it again. If your interest runs in that direction, I recommend the book highly! You might even find it on E-bay.
