I have just finished heading two 48 quart coolers of wild sweet Georgia Shrimp. thumbs_up.gif Wow!! As many of you know, I live on Georgia's beautiful coast and enjoy the bounty of her coastal waters. cool.gif Right now the wild sweet Georgia shrimp are everywhere. wink.gif These are "cobb shrimp". What are cobb shrimp? unsure.gif This is a coastal term that means the shrimp are as large as a corn cobb. That is to say from the tip of the horn to the tip of the tail the length is about 8 inches. Now that is a jumbo shrimp to y'all. rolleyes.gif

That's about the same size as the Cajun Shrimp me, the brother, and dad saw when we went down to the bayou lands of southern Louisiana to visit our Cajun/Creole family friends a year after Katrina. Big shrimp!

I’m about to go and do what I should be doing. Does it ever end? And I talking about being on vacation…not dead.

Love to be on vaca right now but I am trying to get over a nasty case of the flu. Being sick is such a waste of time.

QUOTE (Patriot1776 @ 02-Oct-2008, 09:55 AM)
Listening to my vinyl records, and wishing the CD I won in the contest here this month, that's now hopefully on its way, was record too instead of a CD. Valpal, I envy you. I've stuck at home with no work from my employer for over a month now. *sighs* What do you do?

Patriot1776:
I work for an independent insurance agency. Before anyone says anything, I don't like insurance companies either, they are a rip off. I am the first person you see when you walk in the door. I answer the phone, do the filing, open and distribute the mail, report claims for our customers, fill in for the other 2 girls when they are gone and do all of the computer work for the crop insurance.
I am really lucky to have landed this job. There are not many jobs in our small town.

Coastman:
You are so lucky. You don't find shrimp like that in the Texas Panhandle. LOL The last fresh shrimp we had came from a guy who went down to the coast and brought it back. We thought we had died and gone to heaven.

Listening now to a fine thrift-store bought LP of pipe organ music. Record was bought for only $1, and was in very fine shape:

The Artistry of Diane Bish, Organ Virtuoso
Organ: 117 Rank Ruffatti of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Chruch in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Side 1:

1. Henry Purcell - Trumpet Tune and Air (4:28)
2. Marcel Dupre - Magnificat I - "My Sould Doth Magnify The Lord" (3:35)
3. Charles M. Widor - Symphony No. 5, Op. 42, No. 5 (9:58)

Side 2:

1. Louis Vierne - Carillon De Westminster (6:32)
2. Claude L. Daquin - Noel Etranger (2:17)
3. Andre Campra - Rigaudon (3:17)
4. Henry Mulet - Thout Art The Rock (from Ten Byzantine Sketches) (4:05)

Sounds absolutely superb! walkman.gif

Trying to get enough coffee so that I can take both grandsons to our local Pumpkin Patch. They have a corn maze that should be interesting. If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, you know my grandsons lost me!!!!!
