Who doesn't remember The King of Rock & Roll.

Do you remember where and what you were doing when it was announced that
The King passed on?

I remember that day like yesterday. I was baby-sitting my little cousin at the time at my uncle's house in Montreal. It was a sad news for a lot of fans because he was still very popular.

And by the look of it a lot of fans still misses him very much. sad.gif
But the legend is very much alive though.

I have and always will be a BIG Elvis fan!
I had come home from work and was lying down, listening to my radio, when they announced it. I still recall the shock I felt then.
I saw Elvis in concert in 1973, showing how old I am!

Any one been to Graceland? I have. It was worth it.

I wasn't born until 1981, but I feel I probably should've been born a couple decades earlier. I was watching the '68 Comeback Special a little last night...it's amazing how much Elvis still resonates to this day. I really dig the little 'unplugged' part at the end where Elvis jams along with his crew...really impressive!

I've always liked Elvis too. Some of my favorite tracks are from later on in his years - like - In the Ghetto, Suspicious Minds and Amazing Grace.

I was 5 1/2 and I don't recall that anyone said anything about it but I remember that I saw his funeral procession and so on television. I didn't quite understand who this was. Now I do.

I became a big Elvis Fan when I was about 14. It all started when I saw his movie "Change of Habit". I always liked the older Elvis more than the younger one.

I was born where Elvis was stationed in Germany - the beautiful Friedberg. I lived in between the towns of Friedberg and Bad Nauheim (that's where he lived) and my grandfather, who owned a cap company in Friedberg at the time Elvis was there, drove him around. We even had one of our Business Cards signed by him. I don't know what happened to that one - unfortunatly.

Okay - I will tell you the truth - it was between my sophomore and junior year in college. I was studying music as a voice major. Atlanta had a fledgling little opera group and they were doing a production of "Die Fledermaus". I was in the chorus because my voice teacher was one of the leads. Well, I had to wear this green velvet, victorian, off the shoulder, show lots of cleavage dress! So, I had to get some underthings to make the dress "look right". Now the part of where I was when I heard about Elvis - I was in Fredericks of Hollywood! Woohoo!!! naughty.gif naughty.gif angel_not.gif angel_not.gif
Everyone in the place froze when they heard the news over the radio in the store.

I was at Paradise Ski Lodge in Washington State and one of the guys rushed
in and said,"Elvis is dead". Of course we did not believe him. His voice was
a real gift to us all, sad how he left us. Loved his gospel songs.
