I have seen the Elders in concert three times. Once, at Chicago's Celtic Fest and twice at Ballydoyle's in Downers Grove. Fabulous, high energy band. Great musicians, great vocals and great songs. Their lead singer, Ian Byrne, is one of the most charismatic performers out there. Check out their CDs or their DVD The Elder's live at the Gem. They are not to be missed.
I would have to if they are anything like their cd Live at the Gem it would be so wonderful to see them in concert. I love the song Men Of Erin. Your so lucky to have seen them Rosalind. May be some day.
I've seen The Elders the last two summers at the Fairfield County, CT Irish Festival. Bought their latest CD and it is truly good but the recording no matter how good does not stand up to their live work. I was very disapointed to see that they will not be on the schedule at this years fest but will be playing within driving distance several times this year at several other venues. Can;t wait to see them again.
First time I saw The Elders, we were playing the Great American Irish Festival at Frankfort Fairgrounds Upstate NY. From the opening song to the last, the crowd was stomping and clapping and singing along. They have so many great songs,it's hard to pick a favorite. One of the high moments for me was the way they brought us all together as one,in this great U.S.A. and went into "Soil and Sky". A must see Live. Donn Mostyn KYNDRYD

Watch out for the fab anthem - Luck of the Irish (seriously, its gonna blow your socks right off your tootsies), and lots lots more wonderful new music.
It's been a long time coming, three years since the last studio album, and I think it's going to have been well worth the wait! I get my copy on Saturday at the Elders annual Hoolie in Kansas City... I can hardly stand the wait.
Over several years of getting to know them and their music,I am impressed at the quality of both.. Their latest CD 'Wanderin Life and Times" is my favorite of their alblums...Can't wait to see them live again,The live concert is a gift...See them soon...
Saw them at Newport, RI a year ago and I would concur with the messages above. They need to go on your must see list! Fantastic musicians who put on such a very entertaining live show.
