The age old question of what do people wear under their kilts. More specifically, traditionally, what do Scotsmen wear under their kilts. It is a question that people have pondered for hundreds of years.
A bit of history on the kilt:
The kilt is a knee-length garment with pleats at the rear, originating in the traditional dress of men and boys in the Scottish Highlands of the 16th century. Since the 19th century it has become associated with the wider culture of Scotland in general, or with Celtic (and more specifically Gaelic) heritage even more broadly. It is most often made of woollen cloth in a tartan pattern.
Although the kilt is most often worn on formal occasions and at Highland games and sports events, it has also been adapted as an item of fashionable informal male clothing in recent years, returning to its roots as an everyday garment.
Now go ahead and answer the question! Later on this summer we will post an article to answer this question and others on the Kilt!

One can not profess to be of "GOD" and show intolerence and prejudice towards the beliefs of others.

I wear my kilt with pride for both my heritage, like most. Whenever I get asked this question (which generally seems to be asked more by women whom have never really met anyone who has worn a kilt), my standard reply is "Only what the good Lord has graced me wit at birth." This seems to be met with a bit of blushing on the askers part, and a good chuckle for me.

Lay you down in green meadows amongst the heather for it is there the music calls to your soul and beckons you home.
Nothing is worn under the kilt, it's all in perfect working order.

I am a stag: of seven tines, I am a flood: across a plain, I am a wind: on a deep lake, I am a tear: the Sun lets fall, I am a hawk: above the cliff, I am a thorn: beneath the nail, I am a wonder: among flowers, I am a wizard: who but I Sets the cool head aflame with smoke?
I am a spear: that roars for blood, I am a salmon: in a pool, I am a lure: from paradise, I am a hill: where poets walk, I am a boar: ruthless and red, I am a breaker: threatening doom, I am a tide: that drags to death, I am an infant: who but I Peeps from the unhewn dolmen, arch?
I am the womb: of every holt, I am the blaze: on every hill, I am the queen: of every hive, I am the shield: for every head, I am the tomb: of every hope.
The modern tradition says nothing. However, a little bit of research will tell you that originally undergarments were worn under a kilt. That same research will reveal that kilts were actually more like a toga than a skirt. Kilts were only worn in the highlands where the tall, damp vegetation made the Celts' traditional legwear (trousers) impractical.
