To those with interest in the MacArthur Clan there is an old story my Dad told me about his family. It seems at some point in the past the MacAthurs being devout catholics thought it only fitting that they should build a Kirk. Trouble was they were a bit short on the old gelt so they looked around for a solution to the problem. Well it came to pass that a neighbouring clan (smaller than them) had just finished building a new Kirk and brought in a priest. Of course the MacArthurs were jealous and being that gang of robbers,looters etc. decided to pay a visit to the next glen and after bashing in a few heads they stole the Kirk. They moved it stone by stone onto their land and they even stole the priest. Whether this is a true tale or not I don't know but being raised by a MacArthur and knowing them the way I do . I believe it.

TandVh;

As I said I don't know if the story is true or not but if so it would have been Argyll near Cladich on Loch Awe. As to the clan I don't know but as I said knowing the MacArthur as I do they were definitely smaller and richer.
