QUOTE (tallerlacuba @ 07-Jan-2009, 03:26 PM) | Someone knows how did a battering ram function? |
I've seen three different types. The first is just you basic ram, carried by troops and manually swung against the castle gates. this was somewhat effective, but costly in manpower at the only protection they had agains the defenders was shield held over there heads. when one troop fell, someone would have to rush to take his place. The second type is a long log mounted on wheels. the troops would pull it back aways then rush it forward to connect with the castle gates. this one is more powerful and has the advantage that a covering could be built over it for protection. the downfall to this one is that depending on the approach to the castle gates, you might not be able to get alot of momentum. The third type is also the most powerful. it is a log hung between two a frames as a swinging ram. this one has the advantage that you could get alot of hits in rather quickly, did not take alot of troops to operate once in place, and could have a cover built over it. the problems with it is that it was rather difficult to get into place. what was used depended largely on the approach to the castle gates, and the defenses present. you can go online and there are some good sites describing these weapons. this is one of my favorites. http://www.medieval-spell.com/Medieval-Sie...ge-Weapons.htmlHYDRO |

But you can have differant Generals for each of your armies, so hopfully, being able to choos 4 diferant ones, you wont have to keep changing them and lose the bonus.

It is not advisable to venture unsolicited opinions. You should spare yourself the embarrassing discovery of their exact value to your listener. Ayn Rand (1905 - 1982),

LOA, first I did'nt say the system was BS. If you read my post, What I said that someone like me who is not a verbal (Writing) person has to hunt for somewear to write some BS. The BS is coming from people just adding junk to get their rating up to in turn get the reward, not the system itself. As for the task part, the point there was a sugestion that they could have some other task for those of us that arnt great comunicators to do, who would like to condribute to the site, that would also be a benifit to the site or the people here, and still be able to get the distribution like the posters. Those...... who do have a opinion about everything could continue to do it in here. AND, in MY OPINION, this is not "just another part of CR." It is a major part of what i enjoy about the CR site, But thanks for your opinion and input.... |

The problem with that is that some of us (me) are not very good talkers, let alone writers. So we have to hunt for some post that we might have some BS to input just to try to get our rating up. I would personally prefer it if instead of having to do posts, you could do some sort of task, or deed, to up your rating....... |

I think most of are still figuring it out. My main problem is that it takes so long to build up the resources to do research and construction. It helps if you join a good clan where the members help each other and the leader is knowledgable about what is going on, and passes on that knowledge. King McRoach is great for that. In the meantime.....have a cold on on me!!!!! |
